POSITION SUMMARY
Performs vehicle operations functions and activities; included are operating, and servicing motor vehicles such as general and special purpose, base maintenance, and material handling vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates, cleans and services motor vehicles to include Class A Tractor Trailer and up to 44 passenger busses
Conducts pre-trip vehicle inspections and documents results
Performs operator maintenance
Prepares, reviews, and maintains vehicle operator forms, records, and reports on vehicle operation, inspection, and dispatching activities
Maintains records and logs
Ensures compliance with base agencies
Tractor/Trailer and MHE Service operate Tractor trailer and Fork lifts as needed
Scheduled Sweeps, Unscheduled Pickup, and Delivery
Passenger & Cargo Support
Wrecker/Recovery Service
Aircrew Support
Base Taxi
Priority Cargo (MICAPS)
Protocol/DV Service
Observe proper Radio Etiquette
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
CLASS B driver’s license with Passenger endorsement
Knowledge is mandatory of: vehicle operation and official use of government vehicles and equipment; operation of dispatch, and driver qualification and licensing functions; evaluating, staffing, and negotiating transportation support agreements; evaluating requirements and developing operating procedures to support contingency and mobility operations; and custodial responsibilities
ACTIVE DOD Secret Clearance with ability to maintain Secret Clearance
US passport
Ability to successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)
Preferred Qualifications:
CLASS A driver’s license with Passenger endorsement
Experience operating fork-lifts up to 10,000lbs
Experience operating wrecker for vehicle recovery
Experience performing vehicle operations functions such as inspecting, servicing, operating, scheduling, and dispatching vehicles; controlling equipment and performing custodial duties; or preparing, reviewing, and maintaining vehicle forms and records
Experience performing or supervising functions such as vehicle dispatch, planning and scheduling transportation support, performing fleet and operations analyses, administering driver qualification and licensing program
EDUCATION
For entry into this specialty, completion of high school is desirable
