ANASOC GSK Ammunition/Weapons Trainer/Mentor-ASSF
     
Duty Description: 

The General Support Kandak (GSK) Ammunition/Weapons Trainer/Mentor will Train, Advise, Assist, and Mentor (TAAM) the Afghan GSK in ammunition activities and weapons maintenance and repair; in operating and maintaining the Ammunition Holding Area (AHA) and Ammunition Supply Points (ASP); utilizing the Core Inventory Management System—Enterprise Edition (CoreIMS-EE) and the MoD 14 process (to include the MoD 9 and 63) to order, track, receive, and issue parts, supplies, and equipment; time management; the Afghan orders process (cipher); incorporating an effective weapon maintenance program to achieve above a 90% Operational Readiness Rate (ORR); and a weapons deadline report. Work in concert with the PAE ANASOC TT G4 Trainer/Mentor and the PAE GSK SPO/S4 Trainer/Mentor to maintain situational awareness regarding ANASOC (and subordinate unit) supplies, equipment, and parts; establish a “TAAM linkage” to maintain and sustain logistical coordination and synchronization. Provide TAAM support to the GSK Weapons Repair Facility at Camp Commando since the site services and repairs all ANASOC weapons; provide an open line of communications with fellow Weapon/Ammo Trainer/Mentors and provide periodic updates on inoperational equipment status and when equipment/weapons are ready for pick up. Interact with the Coalition Force CSMC Special Operations Advisor Team (SOAT) and the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) to ensure TAAM efforts and actions are nested with military mentor/Requirements Owner (RO) Lines of Efforts (LOE) and ASSF goals and objectives. Attend military mentor battle rhythm events, as required.

Develop Ammunition and/or Weapons Programs of Instruction (POI), as requested/directed. Be prepared to provide weapon TAAM support to the Special Operations Brigades (SOB), National Mission Brigade (NMB), Special Operations Kandaks (SOK), Mobile Strike Kandaks (MSK), and Cobra Strike Kandaks (CSK), as required and directed. Provide deliverables, reports, and documentation to the GSK Transportation/General Services Company (GSC) Trainer/Mentor, as directed.

Required Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training sixty hours (60) per week while OCONUS.

Minimum Job Requirements:

TAAM the Afghan GSK in ammunition activities and weapons maintenance and repair; in operating and maintaining the AHA and ASP; utilizing the CoreIMS-EE and the MoD 14 process (to include the MoD 9 and 63) to order, track, receive, and issue parts, supplies, and equipment; time management; enforcing the Afghan orders process (cipher); incorporating an effective weapon maintenance program to achieve above a 90% ORR; and a weapons deadline report.
Work in concert with the PAE ANASOC TT G4 Trainer/Mentor and the PAE GSK SPO/S4 Trainer/Mentor to maintain situational awareness regarding ANASOC (and subordinate unit) supplies, equipment, and parts; establish a “TAAM linkage” to maintain and sustain logistical coordination and synchronization.
Provide TAAM support to the GSK Weapons Repair Facility at Camp Commando for all ANASOC weapon repairs.

Provide an open line of communications with fellow Weapon/Ammo Trainer/Mentors and provide periodic updates on inoperational equipment status and when equipment/weapons are ready for pick up.
Be prepared to provide weapon TAAM support to SOBs, the NMB, SOKs, CSKs, and MSKs, as required and directed.
Develop Ammunition and/or Weapons POIs, as requested/directed.
Interact with the CJSOTF-A to ensure TAAM efforts and actions are nested with military mentor/RO LOEs and ASSF goals and objectives;
Provide deliverables, reports, and documentation to the GSK Transportation and GSC Trainer/Mentor, as directed.
Must build and maintain positive relations and rapport with teammates, the client (US, NATO, and Troop Contributing Nation military forces), and Afghan counterparts.
Understand the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and capable of relating MDMP to the Afghan cipher process.
Able to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract.
Willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required. Force protection will be provided by authorized sources. 
Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders.
Understand the Theater ROE (Rules of Engagement).
Additional duties, responsibilities, and requirements as identified by program management.
Minimum Qualifications:

Former Senior NCO, WO, Officer with MOS 91, 915 or service equivalent.
Shall have at least of two (2) years of ammunition management experience.
Combat experience required, with not less than one (1) year of experience in Special Operations.
Shall be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to pass all medical, dental, and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.   
Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations.   
Able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:

Former US Army or Marine Corps 04 or E7 and above with a Logistics and/or Armament Specialist background.
OCONUS experience in Afghanistan or Iraq working with Partnered Nation Security Forces as an advisor.
Previous experience working with coalition forces, NATO, or other Troop Contributing Nations.
Familiarization with the Afghan Special Security Forces (ASSF) structure/organization and mission sets.
Understanding of the NATO, Operation Freedom Sentinel, and Resolute Support structures and missions.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs. per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied.
