Responsibilities
Within the limits of the powers delegated to him, the Chief Security Officer may perform the following standard functions:
• Prepare, review, approve or validate security planning or security management documents security for the designated mission, country or geographic area, including all aspects relating to their development, development, execution and updating.
• Monitor activities related to the application of approved security measures for UNMHA personnel and operations.
• Provide support and advice to the Head of Mission on all security issues, policies and procedures.
• Maintain and strengthen communication with UNDSS.
• Be a member of the security management team in Lebanon, assist the CSA UNDSS, help plan and execute security operations, assess the effectiveness of
security planning and apply measures to strengthen security of the personal in the country.
• Maintain cooperation and collaboration with international authorities and institutions, take stock of the security situation, give advice and provide security training to UNMHA staff.
• Ensure the implementation of the safety and security policies of the United Nations security management system by UNMHA staff.
• Support the CSA UNDSS to set up a functional emergency communications system and to ensure its proper functioning.
• Establish the facts in the context of security incidents involving UNMHA staff or their affected dependents.
• Help react to crises and security incidents.
• Supervise, coordinate and assess the arrangements for close protection of the Head of Mission / other senior UN officials, identify adequate resources for close protection within the United Nations security management system.
• Participate in security missions such as inter-agency missions, integrated task force missions, technical assessment missions, missions of non-aligned Member States, security assessment visits, missions and investigations establishment of the facts.
• Supervise and manage UNMHA security personnel.
• Manage the assets, supervise their management, report on them or participate in them within the framework of the resources allocated to the UNMHA.
• Identify and promote best practices.
• Perform any other tasks that may be assigned to it.

Advanced university degree in the fields of security management, business administration, political and social sciences, psychology,
criminal justice, law, international relations or any other related discipline . Failing that, an undergraduate university degree accompanied by two additional years of
relevant experience, or a diploma issued by an academy, a military or police school or a defense college, obtained over a minimum period of three years.
Desirable: UNDSS certification, SCP, HIM, ETB / IFAK training.Professional experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in security, risk or disaster management in the public or private service areas, such as national security, military or police, or in a corporate environment is required.
A minimum of 2 years international field experience in peacekeeping, UN Security Management System OR similar International Organizations within security or related area is required.
Direct experience in United Nations Security Management System with proven crisis management capabilities is desirable.
One (1) year experience in High Risk Environments / Mission is desirable
