We are offering the following position in ZIG 3 "Preparedness and Operations Support" of Department ZIG for a Travel Risk Management Advisor (all genders)

The contract is limited until 31st of December 2022.
The position will be available immediately.
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Provide technical advice, conduct travel-related risk management and implement mitigation
measures in ZIG, especially for externally-funded projects;
• Drive the development of security, business continuity and critical incident management
plans, policies and procedures in accordance with internationally recognized good practices;
ensure their implementation;
• Help investigate near-misses and incidents in which employees are involved overseas, regularly
update security plans, draft contingency plans and evacuation/re-location plans;
• Conduct and analyse security training needs assessments with key stakeholders;
• Coordinate, and potentially co-facilitate security and safety training with a particular focus on
personal safety, soft skills and personal conduct;
• Monitor international affairs and liaise and coordinate with external agencies where necessary – service providers, UN, INGO security, local governments, etc.
Requirements and qualifications:
• University degree (state examination, university diploma, master's degree) in International
Relations, Law Enforcement, or equivalent;
• Demonstrated understanding of handling complex emergencies and staff-related critical
incidences and a track record of appropriate responses to such emergencies;
• Several years of experience with implementing security programs;
• Experience working in conflict and post-conflict settings;
• Experience in conducting training or briefings for small groups preferred;
• Willingness to travel to post-conflict and high-risk environments as required;
• Willingness for an extended safety inspection in accordance with § 9 Safety Inspection Act
(SÜG)
• Language skills (CEFR level): English C 2 (excellent knowledge) and German A1 (Beginner)
