Security Manager , Costa Rica

Overall responsible for the day to day security related operations, primary focus of the role is to ensure that the corporate physical security policy is reinforced and followed by employees, and all personnel, to ensure that assets are protected and ensure employees are safe, Secondarily the role will serve as a backup to the site Facility manger.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Review and manage all operational management systems including preventive and corrective maintenance,
Manage maintenance of security equipment’s, including but not limited to ACS, CCTV, FPS, and Manage security guards.
Supervise and Train Security guards, on current and new procedures, systems, equipment’s, protocols.
Supervise that the Security Program is followed and report accordingly the status to upper Management.
Security Manager must organize and oversee all security operations at the assigned facilities, including guard’s rosters, special permits to guards, and coordination of guard’s shifts.
Demonstrated ability to undertake complex investigations, including those into sensitive and criminal matters, and produce clear and impartial reports on the findings.
Extensive Leadership experience including people management and capability development
Manage the day to day systems and processes for security, security guards, keys , locks, access control, CCTV, alarms, parking, investigations, event management.
Be available 24/7 to coordinate the initial response to emergencies on facility. Liaise closely with senior management and local state emergency services.
Effectively motivate, coach and manage staff to achieve prescribed objectives by providing clear performance expectations and regular feedback.
Perform and report security drills, to review the level of response of the security team, and provide feedback and take corrective actions. Report results to upper management.
SM should reinforce corporate Physical security policy and procedures as they relate to all security programs and personnel including guard management and deployment.
Assist with identification, investigation and correction of any security risks, incidents.
Ensure that security equipment / systems and/or processes adequately meet policy requirements, and that security guards team is properly train to operate them.
Support and Ensure that Security Self-Audits are conducted and documented in the facility.
Have an oversight of Security Policies and Procedures not only from the company but also from clients.
Review of the Security Daily Report to identify and facilitate equipment requirement or maintenance.
Support Facility Manager by facilitating any special/ VIP visits which may need additional Security.
Provide Security awareness and communication to employees of respective facility ensure that Security Awareness is part of New Hire Program.
Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards
Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
Order security-related supplies and equipment as needed, for day-to-day operations and for badge creations.
Knowledge on Access control systems and CCTV, systems is needed to train security guards and operate them if required
Follow and update site security post orders as required.
Ensure that all logs and registers are properly filled, used and archived, physically and digital, and to be handy for audits.
Support to Facility Manager as a back up to cover absence.
Any other activity required by the organization will be assigned by Facility Manager.
 

Essential Qualification/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Sociology, Emergency Management, or related field OR 3-5 years of experience in operational safety and security, law enforcement, emergency services, or related field.
Intermediate English level: B2 – B2+.
Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Good communication and leadership skills.

Desired Qualifications:

2 years of supervisory experience.
Experience in CCTV and electronic security systems.
Previous experience in emergency response protocols on site and off site.
