Malta Air is a subsidiary of the Ryanair Group. The airline is a fast growing start-up, whichcommenced operations in June 2019. Malta Air has its headquarters in Malta and operations in Malta, Italy, Germany and France, serving destinations throughout Europe. More than 50 Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be added to the register over the next 12 months.
Applications are invited for the position of Malta Air’s Safety and Security Manager. The successful
candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and day-to-day administration of the Safety Management System and the Security Programme throughout the organization. Key tasks will include:
facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management;
monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks;
provide advice on safety and security matters;
monitor international trends that may affect the safety and security of operations;
ensure that safety management has the same or higher priority level throughout organisation as any other management and operational processes;
advise the Accountable Manager of the state of operational safety and security of the airline;
report to TM CAD (the National Aviation Authority) for matters regarding safety;
report to AVSEC Malta (the National Aviation Security Office) for matters regarding security;
assess safety and security reports and oversee any investigations, if required;
promote safety and security awareness and vigilance;
stay up-to-date with safety and security legislation.
The position is Malta-based. The salary will be attractive, corresponding to the individual’s experience and reflectsadvantageous local tax rates.
