Ideally Royal Engineer/Advanced Search Advisor Qualified
High threat operational search experience strongly preferred
Accommodation: Based out of Company villa in Erbil
Pay Rate: Competitive
Leave Rotation: 9 weeks in country, 3 weeks on leave (leave unpaid)
Security: Armed Personal Security Detail (PSD) movements provided in armoured B6 vehicles between accommodation and work sites and PSD support whilst operational
Contract Terms: All flights (mobilisation, demobilisation, leave), meals, insurance provided by the Company
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and delivery of initial Search and Clearance training for local national qualified deminers
Conduct detailed planning for all Search operations (specifically Route/Access, Compound,
Disruptive Building, Defensive Area and Defensive Vehicle Search)
Able to conduct detailed Threat Assessments to inform Search and Clearance planning
Develop and deliver methods of work for Search and Clearance planning
Develop and deliver methods of work for Search and Clearance operations
Conduct task briefings
Command and control of Search operations
Manage the use of Search equipment
Conduct pattern and link analysis to provide detailed threat analysis to both the Client, other NGOs and Optima HQ
Be prepared to fuse various sources of information to support the mission and prevent future targeting of our assets
Maintain a safe system of work for all personnel under their control
Implement accident/incident procedures
Conduct liaison duties with Optima HQ staff, supporting agencies and the Client
Record and report the progress of Search and Clearance operations
Identify capability gaps within operational teams and develop continuation training as required
Conduct performance assessments of operational staff to maintain capability
Identify lessons learned and communicate them to operational staff and Optima HQ
Provision of advance to Optima for future project and programme planning.
