Security Analyst , Kenya

Main purpose of job:

Collection of open source information and its subsequent collation and analysis for the development of a common operating picture of the Kenyan security environment.

Roles and responsibilities

- Daily collection, management and analysis of open source security related information.
- Production of a daily situation report, including incident summary, current threats, situational awareness and any other relevant information for internal distribution.
- Provision of weekly and monthly security summaries.
- Liaise with teams throughout the BHC, and off platform where necessary, to maintain knowledge of political and security issues in-country.
- Monitor up-country staff movements. Work with others in the BHC to verify the security picture in advance of the move. Liaise with the visit lead in completing Travel Risk Applications and the Transport Manager in respect of suitable vehicles. Ensure travellers are fully aware of the potential risks. Monitor the journey throughout and liaise with Security Management in the event of any security incident.
- Manage a security statistics data base.
- Ensure verbal and written security briefs for visitors and staff are current.
- Manage the BHC/staff/vulnerable point mapping system.
- Maintain the security equipment inventory.
- Represent the Head of Security at security related meetings as required.
- Liaise with the Transport Team in respect of the Security/Transport whatsapp group.
- Assist in delivering verbal security briefings to visitors, staff and UKB families.
- Carry out the duties of the Security Office Manager during that officer’s absences.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Hold a suitable Security Management or Business degree.
- Be able to obtain security clearance to at least UK Official Sensitive.
- Fluent written and spoken English. Fluent spoken Swahili.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Accomplished writing skills.
- Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent IT skills, particularly MS Office based software.
- Have held a Kenyan or international driving licence for at least two years. 

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Have a military, police, government background or relevant experience in the private sector security industry.
