About The Role
Global Security - Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The Head of EMEA Security will oversee the security support and operations for Uber’s footprint in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This will include leading projects that span across the business and across the region,
setting strategy, creating processes to improve security efficiency, and implementing metrics to measure the team’s effectiveness in supporting the business. The successful candidate for this role has a solid foundation in corporate and physical security principles. S/he is also a skilled communicator, experienced leader, proactive problem solver, and critical thinker who is eager to understand challenges from every angle, and lead in the implementation of solutions. S/he has a demonstrated record of partnering with international colleagues to drive mission objectives while recognizing the value and complexity of regional nuances.
What You’ll Do
Oversee the execution of the Global Security mission within EMEA including Physical Security, Investigations, Intelligence, Crisis Management, and Threat Response
Ensure security standards are applied appropriately and in compliance with local laws and Uber policy
Lead, coach, and develop direct reports and team members to be future leaders within the organization
Set and drive strategy for operational excellence in delivering security services
Act as a trusted partner and consultant to senior Regional Business Leaders and partner teams
Drive a data-driven approach to security within the region to reduce risk and improve resilience
Identify and facilitate opportunities for cross-team and cross-functional collaboration to support the EMEA business
What You’ll Need
12+ years leading programs and major projects for Security teams
Extensive experience in physical security and leadership
Proven ability to move fast, pivot quickly and still deliver results
Experience building and managing high performing teams holistically - managing people, budgets, projects, workloads, priorities, etc.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication and written skills to influence and instill confidence at all levels and in all functions/geographies.
Experience building a culture of security within an organization, and balancing the needs for quick decisions, thorough process, and compliance
Enthusiasm for solving problems and implementing creative solutions
Exceptional organizational skills and the perfect balance of attention to detail and swift execution
Capable of fostering a culture of trust, honesty, and integrity
Experience working across geographies and cultures, specifically within the EMEA region
Travel as required to get things done.
