Country Security Coordination Manager - Iraq

Overview 

The Country Security Coordination / Manager Iraq will be responsible for regular and ongoing security analysis of the country context and developments. The incumbent will maintain close contacts with all relevant stakeholders to coordinate a network and build relationships with key actors to ensure that reliable security information is gathered. Undertake regular and ad hoc security assessment missions as necessary, in order to analyze the overall security situation in existing and potential areas of operations. 

Responsibilities 
• Acts as a coordinator with the local Regional Security Coordinators (North and South) • Reviews/restructures the country security organization to seek to optimize the function efficiency. • Assists the Regional Security Coordinators in the organization of daily tasks and methodologies to be used for security reporting and completion of security assessments. • Supports country management to ensure the security management system and plans are updated. • Advises and supports localManagers, the Regional Security Coordinators and the Country CEO with regard to implementation of the security management system. • Ensures the security management system is in line with existing LH security policy, Directives and recommendations. • Supports the Country CEO and other senior staff to manage security incidents. 

Education/Qualifications 
• Bachelor degree or equivalent Experience 
• At least 10 years of international experience of security assessment, planning and implementation of procedures in conflict affected countries 
• Must be able to demonstrate strong writing, reporting, and situational analysis skills. 
• Experience of working in complex field settings within the Middle East region (Iraq - strongly preferred) 
• Ability to provide advice and support field staff in a consultative manner 

Knowledge & Skills 
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic desirable. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts. • Excellent references reflecting demonstrated teamwork, maturity of judgment, tolerance, leadership and integrity of character. 

Language Requirements 
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic desirable. Local / International Local Employment Travel Requirements Willingness to travel across the country
