Hiring Criteria
University degree in Risk Management or other equivalent military or police training relevant to the post, or equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience, preferably with a substantial part of it in crisis management;
In both cases professional experience must demonstrate increasing responsibility at management level of personnel, facilities and assets;
Certificate of English proficiency C1, C2 = Proficient User Level; (Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent;
Certificate of clear criminal record;
Qualified to effectively operate all the weapons used by the Contractor;
First Aid qualified;
Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
General professional experience required
Total professional experience of minimum 10 years, of which minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a management position in an international hostile mission environment; (International is defined as a country outside the home nation(s) of the applicant);
Specific Professional Experience Required
Experience in the management of complex projects undertaken in high threat environments
Experience in interacting and advising Client Country Security Managers
Experience in quantifying and managing risk
Experience of managing a diverse multi-function work force
Experience of managing a contract
Prior Libya and/or Diplomatic experience is preferable but not essential
Job Duties
The ISM shall have a high professional profile and as additional requirements: proven track record as a manager of security activities; experienced in contract management, implementation, quality control and reporting; experience of human resources/financial and operations management. He/she shall have proven experience of working in an international volatile environment.
Scope of responsibilities:
Manage the Project in all of its functions;
Detailed daily engagement with the Client Country Security Manager and his/her Deputy
Ensure that all employees are qualified for the role for which they are employed within this contract;
Ensure regular in-theatre training to ensure that all personnel employed by the contractor are totally competent in their given role;
Coordinate daily operations with the Embassy Staff;
Coordinate the activities of the Close Protection teams to ensure that they provide a professional and discrete service;
Ensure training standards, code of conduct, dress and deportment from all project employees.
Provide on a daily, weekly/bi-weekly and monthly basis a report analysing the security situation in the country. Said reports must be sourced in order for the client contract holder to be able to cross check and reference the information.
The development of procedures shall be done in conjunction with the contract holder to ensure total interoperability, contract compliance and coordination.
Detailed operational procedures are to be developed by the contractor for each component of the specific tasks described. These are to be approved by the contract holder and will be subject to regular revision.

Rate
GardaWorld offers a competitive daily rate (Contractor will only be paid whilst on-duty – no payment made for Off-duty)

Leave Rotation
6 weeks on, 6 weeks off, subject to operational requirements
Travel Pay
Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling. The first day of pay is the day of arrival in the country of operations. The last day of pay is the day of departure from the country of operations.
Visa Requirements
The Contractor is required to pay for his visa for entry into the country of operations. The Company will assist with Letters of Invitation and may pay for the visa on the contractor’s behalf and deduct the costs from the contractor’s fee.
Package
GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.
Flight Package
GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.
The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.
The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.
