Post Security Supervisor

Summary:

To provide a full range of support to the Post Security Manager (PSM) and the Head of Security, dealing with operational security issues and efficiently managing the Security Team Guard Force. Good managerial skills are required. Working with other teams, including Estates will be required, assisting them with delivering key security projects. English language level of speaking, writing, reading and understanding would be very valuable. Core working hours will be 0845 - 1700.

Responsibilities:
Supervise seven locally-engaged guards and, in conjunction with the Security Management Team, ensure they receive adequate training. You will manage their performance, setting objectives, writing their appraisals and arranging regular catch ups.Examine and train all guards on mail for Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), chemical or other threats

Check all guard posts weekly (guards, guard-huts, CCTV systems, watchman clocks and keys, lighting, physical defences, neighbourhood occurrences)

Filing, check occurrence log books and instigate any action required
PCA (fire compliance) deputy lead working to PSM
Prepare monthly Transport Vouchers
Oversee storage and distribution of security-related store
Report and record any breaches of security in the unclassified area
Conduct practices of emergency response drills and fire alarm tests
Be able to prepare ship and receive diplomatic bags
Conduct Embassy closing procedures, including report and record any security breaches
Check and test fire fighting equipment and protective measures and record all details in a log book
Supervise and, where necessary, arrange maintenance of security fences, gates and other barriers, liaising with estates team to implement upgrades.
Conduct periodic patrols and security checks
Liaise with the Military Police (Rio Branco) and build close relationship to facilitate incident response
Assist with visits by Overseas Security Advisers and the Head of Security
Maintain a record of locks and keys under PSM control
Oversee operation and testing of the local emergency VHF radio network.
