Job Summary:
One of three Observer Controller & Trainers (OCT), this position is the Second OCT position and provides to the customer knowledge, skill and practical application required to understand standard Tactical Training Center operations, exercise planning, execution, control and AAR. Includes specific commander perspective knowledge and skills applied to the Command & Staff level of training. Reports to OCT #1.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Train Commanders and Staff
Support all training preparation for training scenarios
Provide mentoring, guidance and recommendations to plan, develop and execute training the Command and Staff
Develop and update all training references and make available in the Tactical Training Center.
Extract and communicate the learned lessons to develop units training.
Work as an adviser to Brigade Commander(s) in the field as well as training the Command and Staff associated with all training requirements
Provide leadership and direction to the field site staff to create a collaborative, effective workplace culture and environment.
Ensure programs meet and/or exceed customer satisfaction through continuous interaction with key internal customers and strategic partners.
Manage day to day operations of the site including but not limited to: logistics, customer support, technical support, administration, safety, and compliance.
Act as on-site primary contact with the customer for support status and performance and is the primary representative of Cubic for all site activities.
Anticipate customer needs to ensure satisfaction and business growth.
Support the development of new business through the identification and pursuit of new opportunities.
Implement changes for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures throughout operations.
Take an active role in the development, mentoring and coaching of all staff.
Work actively with HR to attract, develop, and retain high quality and diverse staff throughout the operations organization.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with corporate policies and applicable laws to include succession planning, employee development, performance evaluations, reward systems and resolving complaints and personnel problems.
Review and approve site budget, manage expenditure control and advise on the program budget as required.
Maintain professional and technical currency
May be required to travel periodically, both nationally and internationally, particularly to other Cubic facilities or training sites.
Work as one team and support colleagues with their duties when required to ensure the successful provision of service to the customer
Support the set-up of project equipment when required
Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Extensive military service in a Combat Arms Occupational Field--only (by precedence)
Armor, Armored Cavalry, Light Cavalry
Mechanized Infantry, Motorized Infantry
(other) Infantry
Field Artillery
Special Ops
Engineers (Mobility, Counter-Mobility)
Air Defense
Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
Must have worked as a Commander of Brigade or Battalion in the US Army (Maneuver units, Combat Arms) or Company Grade Officer. Possible exception to this requirement may be made that allows for Battalion-Level Master Sergeant (E8) or Sergeants Major (E-9).
Must be experienced in training commanders and staff and has already carried out similar planning, training and evaluations of such training exercises.
Must have been a Combat Arms or Maneuver Commander or Command Sergeants Major.
Substantial experience in the implementation of exercises and simulation exercises.
Substantial experience in the implementation of After Action Reviews (AARs) as well as detailed written reviews of Lessons Learned.
Sufficient experience in how to manage large training exercises similar to the US Training Centers (NTC, JRTC, JMTC) and other similar centers.
Must be physically able to perform duties in the field as required including carrying, moving or lifting heavy communications equipment associated with the simulations equipment.
Must be experienced with working in the Middle East and Arabic Culture.
Candidate must be eligible for a Secret Clearance without hindrance or a new SF-86 Background Check (if required).
Candidate is required to submit a State Police Background Certificate as part of the Saudi Visa packet.
Desirable:
Candidate with current and valid Passport
Candidate with experience with Arabic military
Operational experience and completion of a Command and Staff course will be considered an advantage
Experience in the delivery of collective training in a simulated environment (virtual or constructive)
