Range Support Supervisor

Job Description:
RIIS has a requirement for a Range Support Supervisor to serve at Camp Buehring, and the Udairi Range Complex in Kuwait. The Range Support Supervisor will report directly to the Range Operations Manager and ensure the full-spectrum of Range support is provided to enable successful gunnery/range training events. He/she will oversee all range support efforts, device fabrication and range equipment maintenance in order to enable uninterrupted unit training. The Range Support Supervisor will monitor all range support activity to ensure all support efforts are executed in accordance with Kuwait environmental directives, applicable regulations and SOPs.

Required Hours:

Standard work week will be six (6) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s), and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.

Responsibilities:
Ensure all range support efforts are coordinated and resources identified early during the planning process.
Coordinate directly with internal teammates, training units and other authorized organizations for all range facility support and training areas.
Plan, coordinate, and set–up Stabilized and Unstabilized Gunnery on a Multi-Purpose Training Range (MPTR), Multi-Purpose Range Complex (MPRC) and Company Live-Fire lanes.
Assist training units with establishing ranges to meet range qualification standards (TC 25-8) for a Heavy Armor Brigade.
Produce / evaluate Surface Danger Zone diagrams for all weapon systems ammunition.
Manage range resources to support scheduled range activities and ensure range is ready for training when the training unit enters the range.
Manage routine maintenance, equipment, resources, and labor to maintain maneuver training areas (STX lanes), qualification ranges / towers / AAR trailers, tank trails, and training area facilities and life support items (dumpster, latrines, etc).
Operate and troubleshoot 10 level SINCGAR / ASIP radio systems and FLIR mounted cameras.
Use and set up LTIDs and MILES on targets.
Prepare and submit weekly range and training reports and maintain historical documents.
Identify and track efficiencies to reduce unnecessary range support and maintenance costs.
Supervise the emplacement of stationary and moving infantry and armor target lifters and zero panels.
Develop all reports as directed in support of the WTA Program.
Ensure that all range support operations are executed in a safe manner and meet all range safety requirements in compliance with the ASG-KU Range Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Assist units in coordinating scheduled training area to ensure unit can train in the local training area and remain compliant with Kuwait environmental directives.
Provide supervisory expertise in support of Combined Arms ranges for evolving USARCENT training requirements.
Responsible for ensuring the enforcement Safety standards on all ranges and or training areas in accordance with DA PAM 385-63.
Performs other duties as required.Required Qualifications:
6 years’ work experience of range operations at major training sites such as the Fort Hood, Grafenwoehr, NTC, JRTC and JMRC, with Subject Matter Expertise focused on targetry, device fabrication and range operations.
Former Battalion / Brigade gunner with experience on a Battalion or Brigade staff in planning gunnery scenarios for Stabilized and Unstabilized gunnery.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines while adhering to all applicable safety guidelines including: AR 385-63, DA Pam 385-63, and Area Support Group – Kuwait Range Operations Standardized Operating Procedures
Knowledgeable with AR 385-63 Range Safety and DA Pam 385-63 Range Safety.
Experience working with coalition units
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Highly proficient in reading and using a map, giving and accepting directions in topographical terms, and in communicating map information with other members of the Range Operations Team.
Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Ability to exercise good judgment and insight, to understand the overall effect of decisions.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels.Other Requirements:
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must have a valid driver’s license, able to obtain a US Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Driver’s License.
US citizenship is required as this position needs an active/current DOD Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility
Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening & published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear.Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience working on a US Government contract in Southwest Asia.
Experience working with interpreters.Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Training, Management, Business or a related field from an accredited institution and six (6) years’ work experience. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
Able to complete the Range Operations Professional Development (ROPD) Program IAW AR 350-19 within 30-days of hiring.


Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied


Must have an ACTIVE/CURRENT U.S. SECRET Security Clearance
