G6 Staff Trainer/Mentor will TAAM SMW and all subordinate organization counterparts on all matters pertaining to communications planning and implementation. Mentor works with the SMW G6 staff and subordinate organizations, and shall be capable of the following: develop communication plans, conduct requirements analysis, identify communications equipment requirements, develop signal estimates, develop the Signal Annex of an Operations Order, establish communications networks, and employ communications infrastructure (radios, antenna, computer systems, tactical internet connectivity, power generation, etc). Mentor shall identify communications vulnerabilities, employ signal security, conduct electronic protection, assist in the operations of TOCs and in the accounting and management of communications equipment. Mentor shall assist in the following: perform local repair of communications equipment, order communications equipment, prepare communications equipment for repair evacuation, manage tactical information, and store and process relevant information. Mentor shall create and maintain a COP and disseminate it to higher, lower, adjacent, and supporting organizations; develop and manage unit communications training programs and control communications. Mentor shall develop TSPs; manage POI for communication classes; execute Command & Signal Operations; maintain effective VHF, HF, Tactical Internet, and SATCOM communications. Mentor shall maintain Signal Operating Instructions with frequency, encryption, decryption, authentication and password table; maintain automations/IT network architecture and establish lifecycle replacement/upgrade plans. Mentor shall enforce COMSEC SOP; maintain communications with operational units in the field using secure communications and maintain communications contingency plan
Required Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard is conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.
Responsibilities:
Mentor will TAAM counterparts on duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Develop communication plans; conduct requirements analysis
Identify communications equipment requirements, develop a signal estimate
Design a communications network diagram, establish a network
Develop the Signal Annex of an Operations Order
Employ communications infrastructure (radios, antenna, computer systems, tactical internet connectivity, power generation, etc.)
Frequency management
Identify communications vulnerabilities, employ signal security, conduct electronic protection
Assist in site selection of a TOC
Account for, perform local repair, and manage communications equipment
Manage tactical information
Store and process relevant information
Maintain a COP for dissemination
Develop and manage unit communications training program
Maintain effective VHF, HF, Tactical Internet, and SATCOM communications
Maintain SOI with frequency, encryption, decryption, authentication, and password table
Maintain automations/IT network architecture
Enforce COMSEC SOP
Maintain secure communications
Maintain communications contingency plan
Execute Command & Signal Operations
Trainers will be responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
Based on circumstances that are unique to work locations, trainers are responsible for making on the scene decisions on how to execute the curriculum
Assessing how well students have learned coursework
Required Qualifications:
Must have been an E7 or higher US military communications specialist with an MOS equal to U.S. Army 18E, 25 or 250 series with at least six years’ experience in planning, establishing, and maintaining VHF, UHF and HF tactical and operational radio and IT networks within the last five years.
Have a minimum of one year experience with any U.S. service components Corps/DIV/BCT-level communications section or service equivalent or Special Ops Group/BN-level communications section in a managerial position, honorably discharged from service.
12 months combat experience required
Operate a personal computer with MS Office
Excellent interpersonal/people skills; oral/written communication skills; leadership, organizational, and project mgmt skills
Plan/organize work, analyze problems, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions
Possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility
Able to obtain an Afghan Visa
Willing to assist the team and teammates to accomplish mission requirements in other areas outside the scope of work, for short duration
Physical & Mental Requirements:
This is an ARMED position. Obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). Successfully complete/maintain arming requirements including but not limited to: psychological evaluation; complete Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/ documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan MOI
Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc. Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain
Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location based on US Govt needs
Meet CRC and CENTCOM medical deployment standards
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear
Work, live & respond to circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions
Comply with orders, laws, rules & regs; adhere to General Order #1

Security Clearance Requirement: Must have an active DoD SECRET security clearance used within the past two years. Clearance is required to access and handle classified and personal personnel material, attend project meetings, and/or work within restricted areas unescorted.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with communications support to Infantry or Special Operations
Experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
Experience with IT systems is greatly desired
Prefer Security + certification
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree from accredited school & six (6) years of related experience, OR four (4) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied
