Job description
This position requires an individual who has a broad range of skills and knowledge in the security field. The successful candidate will report to the Global Operations Security Lead and be based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Areas of responsibility include security of sites in the African countries and the management of programs and systems designed to protect our employees and assets . The position requires an individual who has well developed interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate must be able to prepare documentation for submission to corporate leadership or governmental agencies with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Provide updates, recommendations, and best practices to company leadership in the development of security initiatives within the geography of responsibility
Lead investigations involving brand protection and other risk to protect Monsanto’s freedom to operate in the areas of responsibility
Establish and maintain liaison with the law enforcement and military community;
Ensure compliance of stakeholders to Global Security standards
Design, implement, and maintain physical security systems at Monsanto sites
Collect and disseminate intelligence related to terrorist, activist, and criminal threats, and other information relating to the security and well being of the employees and the company;
Conduct Security Vulnerability Assessments at Monsanto facilities and prepare necessary documentation and reports;
Participate on committees, teams or projects designed to promote the goals and objectives of Global Security in the Region (Business Conduct, ES&H, etc);
Participate in executive protection assignments including protection surveys and advance preparations as necessary.
The Successful Candidate Must Have
Prior experience in law enforcement, military or corporate security for not less than five years;
Verbal and written proficiency in English.
The ability to work autonomously and with limited supervision;
Experience in conducting and managing criminal and civil investigations.
Experience in conducting interviews;
Experience in physical asset protection and risk analysis;
Experience in preparing clear and succinct written communications;
Knowledge and understanding of Executive Protection concepts and principles;
Basic proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
The ability to travel within Africa and internationally;
The ability to work under pressure in stressful, high profile, sensitive, and life threatening situations.
