The ARCENT Readiness Training Center- Kuwait (ARTC-KU) Training Support Team (TST) is a 27 person team of skill trainers and Observer controllers based at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. We provide theater-specific training requirements such as Counter-IED (CIED), Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (CUAS), Drone Defender and Squad Assault Course (SAC) training as well as Observer Controller (OC) mentorship to U.S. and Coalition forces in the region to include, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, UAE and Kazakhstan.
Three (3) Observer Controller Facilitators will serve as the Exercise SMEs for the ARTC-KU Training Support Team.
Duties: The Training and Exercise Support Facilitators report directly to the Sr. Staff Coordinator/Trainer/ECG.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of Operation Spartan Shield (OSS) Brigade and Theater Security and Cooperation (TSC) exercise products.
Interacts with exercise planners during planning conferences to develop list of products essential to the production of a relevant and realistic training event.
Produces a realistic training event for either OSS or TSC exercise(s) by development of concepts, scenarios, lane diagrams, Master Scenario Events List (MSEL), military orders, role player scripts/backgrounds, village assessments, and the required list of training aids.
Plan and prepare products to support training exercises objectives and any other products as approved by the Senior Staff Coordinator required to support the training event.
Maintains knowledge of Exercise Design (TC 7-101) to support the design of exercises for either OSS or TSC.
Teach, coach and mentor planners, training units or other participants in Exercise Design during planning conferences.
Collaborates with Staff Observer controllers to publish and distribute products such as Operational Orders (OPORDs), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGORD), and Warning Orders (WARNORD).
Assists in establishing exercise training objectives that achieve stated exercise end state as developed through exercise planning conferences.
Attend CDC, IPC, MPC, and FPC for each designated USARCENT partnership exercise.
Prepare and deliver exercise concept/decision briefs for senior USARCENT leadership related to exercise requirements.
Develops Program of Instruction (POI) and Training Support Packages (TSP) forOperation Spartan Shield (OSS) Brigade and Theater Security and Cooperation (TSC) exercise products.
Uses up to date U. S. Army doctrine in developing training products and updates the TSP/POI on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance of training material.
Delivers individual level training within a classroom environment in accordance with established TSP/POIs.
Develops, organizes, and maintains an Observer Controller (OC) course Training Support Package (TSP).
Develop training methods and materials based on consultation with ARCENT, OSS Brigade, TSC Exercise participants.
Prepare all course training materials including manuals, workbooks, handouts, and course critique forms as required.
Responsible for setting up classrooms, preparing briefs, preparing required training forms and documentation, and submitting reports as required.
Required to maintain familiarity with the Army doctrine and organization to accomplish assigned duties.
Modify and maintain training materials which accurately reflect the functionality of current systems with relation to current U. S. Army doctrine and to meet unit training objectives.
Know and understand lane training methodology as well as employ, operate, fabricate, and repair standard and non-standard Training Aids.
Be prepared to deploy throughout the USCENTCOM AOR.
Perform additional duties as prescribed by the Sr. Staff Coordinator/Trainer/ECG.
Required Qualifications
Former E7/CWO/O3 or above in the Army/Marine Corps.
Active Secret Clearance.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related work experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
Desired Qualifications
Maneuver (IN/AR) experience.
Experience in preparing and planning training exercises for a Battalion or higher organization.
Observer Controller experience.
