Summary/General Description Of Job:
The Incumbent guards, patrols, or monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Enforces regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security.
Protects property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards or interference.
Serves at a fixed post, making rounds on foot or by motor vehicle, or escorting persons or property.
Carries out detailed instructions and procedures primarily oriented to insure that emergencies and security violations are readily discovered, and reported to appropriate authority.
Exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling.
Help visitors and customers by answering questions and giving directions.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Accountable For:
Timely and cost effective performance of duties.
Harmoniously working with other employees and customers.
Working with the Project Principals to fully coordinate all activities.
Effectively coordinate a number of projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
Contributing to the successful completion of project initiatives.
Qualifications
Mandatory
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level. Interim clearance is required prior to travel.
Ability to successfully pass any employment background check and/or drug testing required on the contract.
Must be willing to live and work at the remote location of Ascension Island with no family accommodations available
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and required annual physicals required for position
U. S. Citizenship.
Preferred
Possess current SECRET clearance
Previous experience in a remote location
Prior Military service
