The role
The position is created to assist the office of the Regional Security Director for Middle East and Eurasia in extending operational safety and security support to 16+ countries across Middle East, Eurasia and North Africa.
The Regional Safety and Security Director's office is based in Amman, Jordan and extend technical support to the country offices leadership and Security Focal Points across MEE on all aspects of staff safety and security management. RSD Office also ensure compliance to Key Performance Indicators and Essential Standards on Safety and Security by conducting field visits and working closely with Country Security teams.
Serve as technical resource for RSD and Field Security staff, providing training opportunities, guidelines, timely advisory and technical review of monthly, weekly Sitreps, incident reports, PDIs, SSMPs, IMPs, SSFP roasters and other reports and documentation.
Qualifications and experience
Minimum qualifications
· Bachelor Degree or equivalent
· 2-3 year experience in security management preferably in UN or INGOs environment
· Security Management Certifications (IOM, Red-R, ICRC, UN etc)
· Previous experience with armed forces or security institutions will be an added advantage
· knowledge of political and security situation in Jordan and Middle East
· Proven Security Analysis skills
· Excellent English and Arabic language skills (speaking and writing)
· Proficient in use of Microsoft packages and other relevant software including Google maps
· Good contacts within INGO, Corporate, UN and host government security apparatus and willingness to develop further stay Liaison/business contacts.

· Report writing and good communication skills.
· Team player
· Good writing and presentation skills
· Strong command of some of the local languages
· Good training delivery skills
· Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks independently
· Strong leadership and communication (interpersonal, verbal and written) skills
· Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin all aspects of the job.
· A commitment to working constructively with members of other teams and a service oriented attitude
· Understands the complexity and values of non-profit organizations
· Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
FLEXIBILITY
· Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues
· Willingness to travel 50% of the time, with little or no prior notice
