Security Manager , Iraq

Location: Iraq (Erbil) with frequent travels to the field

Starting date: ASAP
Contract Length: 12 -18 months (with possibility of prolongation)

Reports To: Country Director

Responsibilities:

Security Management Plans:
Regular revision of PIN’s Security Management Plans – Standard Operating Procedures, Contingency Plans, Crisis Management etc.
Revision of Local Partners‘ Security Management Plans
Creation of Program specific security plans
Reviewing and strengthening PIN’s security setup
Incidents and Crisis Management
Being a member of Incident Management Team
Following up security incidents andrecording lessons learned

HR:
Being a member of Country Management Team, leading the body for due diligence and duty of care standards
Professional development of members of Security Dept.
Maintaining close cooperation with Programs and Support departments
Organizing internal and external trainings for PIN staff and partners

Analysis and Assessments:
Conducting contextual security assessments and analysis
Providing regular risk/ threat assessments and proposing the implementation of measures to manage or mitigate them
Regular monitoring of ongoing threats and development and predicting possible outcomes

Others:
Liaising with NGO Security Coordination agencies, Alliance 2015 and other partners
Establishing and maintaining information network to be able to provide verified information and early warnings
Regular reporting to Country Director, HQ and donors
Financial management of security budget


Requirements:

Education and Experience:
University degree in relevant subject
Experience working in complex and challenging environments desirable
Previous working experience from Middle East contexts desirable

Rigorous and with high attention to detail
Strong analytical and prescience skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Well-developed participatory planning skills and training skills
Ability to work under pressure and remain calm despite setbacks, managing and meeting deadlines
Cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness and willingness to travel to remote places in the field, maintaining good relationships with all members of staff
Full and clean driving licence
Empathy with the values of People in Need
Fluent in English
PIN offers:

5 weeks leave per year, with flights home paid 2 x per year
2 additional regional flights per year (each up to 500 USD)
