Security Director Aviation & Maritime

Overall Purpose Of The Job (Brief description of the primary purpose of this position)

Responsible for aviation functional oversight and senior sales support lead to clients, including supporting
business and product development through MedAire, Intl SOS and Control Risks distribution channels.


Key Responsibilities (Critical responsibilities and skills of this position, listed in order of importance)

1. In close partnership with regional sales team, drive sales growth inline in line with business plan and
strategies.
2. Functional management and oversight of Aviation & Maritime Security dedicated resource
3. Technical delivery of aviation security components of strategic alliance products and services.
4. Drive increase in MedAire revenue growth in line with business strategy.
5. Lead communications on aviation products and services to Sales teams.
6. Lead Aviation & Maritime Security point of contact for Group Marketing and PR.
7. Support development of products for aviation and maritime security and risk management professionals.
8. Provide guidance and direction for aviation sales support to Regional Security Managers in the Intl SOS

Regional Security Centres

9. Member of Travel Security Group Executive Committee

Job Profile

Required Skills and Knowledge (Brief description of technical knowledge or skills needed to perform the
job)
Thorough understanding of risk management, crisis management and quality assurance principles
Comprehensive understanding of the application of risk management in the aviation industry, to drive
customer insight for products and services.
Excellent communication skills, able to engage with multiple stakeholders and business units to support
and create best in class risk solutions for a broad client base.


Desirable:
Thorough understanding of aviation-specific risk assessment and crisis management tools and techniques

Required Competencies
Extensive knowledge of global political and security issues
Knowledge of Aviation industry
Excellent written and verbal communication

Required Work Experience
Work in a commercial or business aviation flight or security department
Significant service delivery experience in business-to-business professional services company with
increasing leadership responsibilities, ideally in field of security or risk management.
Sales, sales support and or consulting experience
Experience of innovation, product development and delivery of enhancements to customer consulting
and training capabilities
International exposure and experience, proven record working in cross-cultural context
Proven experience in business – to – business service delivery

Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, security or International Relations.

Desirable:
Experience in commercial or business aviation.
Experience in VIP and/or VVIP aviation and logistics requirements.
Commercial aviation license.
Master’s degree in risk management, security, international relations or business

LanguagesEnglish
Other language an advantage

Travel / Rotation RequirementsRegular business travel to Regional Security Centre conferences and meetings, to meet customers and
other travel as required. Expected travel at 25-35%.
