United States Air Force Central Command (USAFCENT) is the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a joint Department of Defense combatant command responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region, into Central Asia. This position supports USAFCENT Operations Directorate (A3).
The Weapon Systems Manager reports directly to the AOC/CC, and is responsible for the setup and successful operation of all systems integrated into the AOC WS site baseline. Identifies, validates and prioritizes requirements. Ensures AOC systems are installed, configured, and operating in a manner that meets operational needs and satisfies the site specific engineering plan (SSEP). The WSM works with all AOC divisions, teams and other entities and agencies as required. Additionally, the WSM provides support to AOC configuration management team and technical subject matter support for AOC Configuration Management process as well as conducts comprehensive system validation testing. Coordinate quarterly updates and maintain a consolidated repository of Weapon System validation checklists produced by Divisions and functions in the AOC that would be affected by changes to the weapon system configurations. Coordinate validation checks (according to maintained checklists) by all affected Divisions and functions in the AOC that are affected by any proposed changes to the weapon system configurations. Provide operational expertise to systems engineers for the set-up and integration of AOC and AOC IT computer systems including systems integration and end-to-end validation.
Additional duties include but are not limited to;
Monitor and analyze the operational effectiveness of the C2 systems and subsystems of AOC Weapons Systems and recommend technical, operational, and management solutions to resolve any TBMCS system and subsystem abnormality noted in the analysis that impacts operational effectiveness. The monitoring and analysis process is conducted approximately once a month with findings documented on a monthly basis.
Develop recommended operational requirements for system(s) set-ups, upgrades, and enhancements for C4I System Management and provide validation and testing of follow-on systems, databases and software. Develop, coordinate and monitor new software requirements and validation testing requirements for all C4I system integration efforts onto the AOC operations floor.
Monitor system/subsystem performance and provide support for system administration activities by coordinating and de-conflicting installation of system/subsystem hardware components, software, applications, and databases.
Utilize/adapt common Microsoft database products as well as other mission unique database support programs to support the development and maintenance of TBMCS system databases.
Provide support to and recommend modifications and enhancements to the operational capabilities of the USAFCENT Weapon System.
Provide technical input to validate and prioritize operator User Support Requests and prioritize C4I system software problem reports (SPR), baseline change requests (BCR), and documentation change requests (DCR).
Support AOC personnel with the design, execution, and management of the CAOC COP architecture. Assist in monitoring systems and network connections by coordination with C4ISM and SYSADs regarding the AOC network requirements (internet protocol [IP] addresses, host IDs) by functional area and to ensure the feeds required to support the COP (i.e., JADSI, IBS, etc.) are available. Develop/modify data displays.
Advises Change Review Board (CRB) Chair external COP architecture requirements (i.e., JTF, components, subordinate TACS elements, etc.) and procedures to be used between nodes to coordinate GCCS COP data flow and updates.
Assist in developing and maintaining web server, shared file server, data archiving, and electronic shared drive folders for both classified and unclassified material on both the SIPRNET and NIPRNET.
Establish and maintain listings of the appropriate authorizations for Weapon System information.
Maintain currency of the archived databases and coordinate with appropriate points-of-contact to ensure that the content of the archived databases are updated.
Provide technical input to AOC systems administrators and operators to meet AOC commander requirements while ensuring proper levels of security are maintained.
Provide operational subject matter information; prepare documentation and consultation in the areas of AOC systems, planning actions and functional/operational processes for USAF personnel responding to routine suspense and staff inquiries.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or 5 years’ experience in systems management.
Project and Project Management Experience (PgMP or PMP preferred)
Three (3) experience with the Operations aspects AOC Falconer weapons system (ATO cycle).
Two (2) years of AF plans/programs or Staff experience translating doctrine into action (JOPES processes).
Two (2) years’ experience with USAFCENT or USCENTCOM networks desired.
Two (2) years’ experience with USCENTCOM operational environment.
