Specialist - Trainer – Training Operations

Location: Porgera, Enga Province, Papua New Guinea
Position Objective

We seek to appoint a Specialist Trainer to join the Porgera Team. Reporting directly to the Senior Specialist Trainer, the Specialist Trainer is responsible for the implementation of the Training and Localisation Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaise with the Senior Asset Protection Trainer to establish written formalised lesson plans for all aspects of security/emergency response training.
• Provide assessments of staff to the Senior Asset Protection Trainer.
• Assist in the investigation of complaints.
• Be able to respond to emergency situations as directed by Management.
• Apply and monitor the systems and processes for security of the product.
• Assist the Asset Protection Manager with implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects.

To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following:

• Significant asset protection experience in the Police or Military
• Extensive experience in leading and coordinating teams of security operators.
• Extensive experience in emergency and incident response, incident investigation and liaison with authorities in relation to criminal proceedings.
• Experience in managing the use of electronic surveillance systems.
• Be able to implement operational security action plans to protect all areas of Porgera Operations.
• Maintain the master security procedures manual other security procedures manuals in the areas designated by the PJV Security standards.
• Ensure an appropriate response to all breaches or possible breaches of security, including reporting to required standard and recipients according to the level of incident.
• Manage systems to ensure training of product security teams is achieved to the required standard.
• Certificate IV Training and Assessment (mandatory).
• Current Drivers Licence.

Your primary location will be the Porgera Mine Site. An on-travel allowance will be provided to candidates who reside outside of Cairns, Australia. The roster for this role is a fly in, fly out rotation on 16 days on, 12 days off.

The Company will provide assistance as per BNL Relocation Policy to relocate the successful candidate to Cairns, Australia if the candidate holds a current visa to reside in Australia. The offer for this role is conditional upon the candidate successfully obtaining and retaining a visa that allows you to work in Papua New Guinea.
