Position Summary
The position will join an Explosive Detection Canine team deployed to an austere environment. K9 Handlers will be paired with trained a trained and certified canine to conduct daily inspection and acceptance of incoming cargo and/or personnel to prevent unauthorised introduction of explosive materials. Responds to emergency care and rescue involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintains control, manages and directs or assists with patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency. Applies advanced emergency medical care to training standard and scope of practice. Performs other basic emergency medical procedures and day-to-day protective security functions.
Responsibilities:
• Performs daily searches to detect and prevent unauthorised introduction of explosive materials
• Provide ongoing canine training, while continuously reassessing canine’s odor detection abilities and building upon and/or refining its existing abilities
• Maintains all canine records, including assigned canine training and health records
• Performs other functions as directed by the Client.
• Maintain assigned protective formation position during movements.
• Participates in advance security preparations
• Man security posts, command post, or other static post as required.
• Perform other functions as required by Client
Terms:
• Monthly rates are variable - Payment is every month including leave rotations
• Accommodation provided

Qualifications:
Qualified Candidates must:
• Be Non-U.S. citizens
• Possess two years of service as a Military or Law Enforcement Handler
• Possess one additional year of security-related experience (national, state/provincial, local or commercial entities providing high threat protective service)
• Have passed criminal record check within 6 months prior to deployment
• Be able to successfully complete non-PSS training course and maintain required weapon qualifications
• Possess knowledge of IEDs, explosive materials and composition
• Possess experience/knowledge in proper handling, storage and or transportation of explosive compounds
• Possess knowledge and understanding of cross contamination prevention protocols for explosive odor training and testing
• Be able to recognise K9 diseases, be familiar with K9 hygiene requirements and optimal physical condition
• Be able to effectively communicate with all parties
Personal Fitness:
• Completion of a Medical (self) Declaration and Medical Examination is required. If you have any current or pre-existing medical conditions you will find that personal accident insurers may refuse coverage or reject claims under the Personal Accident or Emergency Repatriation policies.
• Service with Olive Group involves demanding work in high temperatures and remote locations and will include wearing of Personal Protection Equipment and some heavy lifting which may include the lifting and carriage of an injured colleague. Running and rapid physical motion may be required for personal safety. Personnel will be required to use a weapon, and to hear and respond to verbal instructions and at times may be exposed to loud noises. Equipment typically carried all day every day amounts to approximately 16kg.
