Security Assistant , Iraq

Under the general supervision of the security Advisor and overall guidance of the Organization Representative, and with, when required the technical advice of the TCES in Organization HQs for any action under the delegated authority of the Organization Representation, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks:


Daily follow up security measures of the out movement of staff and visitors.
Keep daily record of in and out movement of staff and visitors.
Helps in monitoring the security conditions of the offices, stores and other storage areas.
Cooperate and helps the security staff of each location of  Erbil Offices.
Arrange and collects information regarding security agents in the region.
Train & re-train staff in the use and procedures of VHF, HF and Satellite Communications equipment.
Form rough draft, completes all correspondence drafted by security staff.
Maintain information filling system for both hard copy and electronic correspondence, both incoming and outgoing.
Maintain a secure on-line security filling system, reporting and filling the safety and security incidents.
With cooperation of other organization, he should insure that safety & security of personnel is the core component of all programmes in the country and that appropriate funding is provided according to needs.
Participate in regular & frequent self-upgrading courses to maintain a strong capacity to instruct and implement the MOSS system.
Assist in the supervision and monitoring of the armed guards.
Liaise with the local security authorities regarding the safeguarding of  offices and personnel in Erbil.
Perform any other administrative and security functions as required.

Education:
High School Diploma with additional courses in related fields

Work experience and knowledge:
A minimum of 4 years working experience in the field of security with an NGO or private business or with the police / fire department, Mine Clearance organization, armed forces or private security company.

Languages:
Good knowledge of the working Language

IT Skills:
Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Exchange) et Very good typing skills.

Office Management Skills:
Able to operate effectively under pressure, rapidly perform situations assessments and respond quickly and affectedly as required.


Valid Driver’s license.


Participated in one or more of the following advanced courses: First Aid: Mine Awareness: Defensive Driving: Self Defence: Fire Fighting: Hostage Survival and or Anti-hijacking measures.


Well organized, able to work independently and for long (sometimes unscheduled) hours.

The incumbent must possess a cooperative spirit, flexibility and openness to work in an international environment within a small team of staff with different national and cultural backgrounds. He/ she must we willing to share information and ideas to ensure efficient running of the country office. He/she must be able to establish good working relationships with supervisors and other staff members. Since the incumbent has access to confidential and sensitive information, a high level of trustworthiness is needed. As he/ she is often the first point of contact with enquirers both from within and outside the Organization, utmost tact, discretion and courtesy are essential personal attributes.

Desirable:
