Job Introduction:
This opportunity is for a potential humanitarian High Risk Search / IED Defeat program in Iraq and the successful applicant would need to be able to confirm that he/she would be available in early 2017. Contract is expected to be 12 months in duration.
Role Responsibility:
The main function of this Program is to provide explosive management support to those areas recently liberated from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). An action plan is underway involving many different agencies and departments to deploy clearance assets on the ground as part as the Humanitarian Response. Conflict has resulted in a humanitarian crisis, with the GOI and UN under pressure to progress the return of displaced civilians to the area as quickly as possible. However, the presence of ERW (including remnant IEDs) continues to pose a blockage to returns, humanitarian relief, stabilisation and reconstruction. This program will enable its clearance to take place.
The Ideal Candidate:
Must be EOD/IEDD qualified (from a recognized international training center) (essential)
Experience within the last 3 years is essential.
Conflict or post conflict environment experience is essential.
Must be medically and physically fit for duty in austere environments.
Requires IT competence - MS Office suite essential.
Light vehicle driving license is required.
