We are looking for: A SECURITY ADVISOR - ETHIOPIA
Country: : ETHIOPIA, Mobile position: more or less 1 week per base – could be one or 2 days more for big bases, and one or two less for small bases. There will be 6 bases, which gives 2 weeks remaining for AA – one week at the beginning, and one at the end to wrap up.
Length of contract: 2 months – starting 15th February 2017.**
The position:
Under management of Head of Security Service and Country Director, your responsabilities will to improve the mission’s security and safety management and culture.
More precisely, your main responsibilities will be:
Improve security management
Deliverables: 1 report, including 1 specific section per base.
Audit of the procedures and their implementations, recos, budgeted plan of action.
Finalise security documents
Deliverables: final package of secu documents per base, and final package of secu documents at mission level.
Actually that could be done through a working session with the FC, going through the existing docs. This would both serve as a rerminder for the FC, and as a revision exercise.
Improve security culture
Deliverables per base: 1 guards training, 1 drivers training, 1 managers training (T3 and above) on security management, safety, humanitarian principles.
The applicant:**
You have at least 2 years of experience in program in NGOs. Experience in Horn of Africa is a plus, Ethiopia best. Your expertise in current safety and security practices and issues affecting aid work globally is regonized. You are confirmed in evaluating the risks in field missions, experienced in setting up and developing security management tools and in conducting training on security environment, procedures and rules.
You prouved your ability to adapt to needs and balance demands of beneficiary and security actors while maintaining appropriate contextual NGO security advice and coordination.
English is compulsory, written and spoken.
Status:
Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305, depending on relevant experience
Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective or individual accommodation, medical insurance
25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year
