Job Summary:
Security is a critical and primary concern of Palladium and is therefore regarded the sine qua non condition for a better working professional environment. We aim to ensure the safety and security of staff and all of properties/ facilities by closely monitoring movement of staff and visitors coming in, moving around and going out of the project occupied areas. All security watchmen must fully understand, implement, adhere to, and ensure full compliance of others, to the security rules and regulations of Palladium in its offices, security plans, instructions and orders, including those that may be further issued from time to time.
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the office and staff. He/She will work closely with other operations staff and programs staff to accomplish project objectives. This individual reports to the Security and Transport Manager.
Primary Duties and Tasks:
According to the duty roster and schedule, the security watchman works in the shifts assigned.
Report on time for duty and remain at duty post until properly relieved, must be dressed in uniform, in a clean and neat manner and wear appropriate identification badges.
Do not take over the duty from your precedent on-duty watchman until properly relieved. Before taking over the duty, you must ensure you are briefed by your colleague about the security situation around, know who are present at office, and conduct a thorough inspection of the premises, installations and properties under your responsibility.
Report immediately to Security Supervisor on duty any suspicious items/packages.
Prevent suspicious looking persons from loitering around and within the premises. Avoid any harsh action and report the issue to the Security Supervisor.
Conduct spot checks and searches on visitors and vehicles entering/leaving the premises.
Before allowing the visitors into the premises, make sure you have confirmation of the project staff the visitor want to visit, and issue visitors with ID cards at the gate.
Report security incidents in areas under your responsibility, city or provinces immediately to the Security Supervisor and prepare detailed report when necessary.
Must actively escort the guest to the office or other location if asked by the supervisor or office.
Strictly avoid changing your shift/duty times without informing Security Supervisor. Avoid taking leave for phone calls.
Properly use your communication equipment as required. Respond to checks immediately.
Check and record particulars including the name, type and make of all in-coming and out ?going items against particulars of the carrier. Do not let any item out without gate pass.
Maintain and properly use your fire extinguisher as required.
Do not take unnecessary leave of post.
Be courteous and polite at all times to all staff and visitors.
Requirements
Job requirements
4-6 years of professional experience as a Watchman is required;
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform other strenuous tasks.
Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, attention to detail, patience, good humor, flexibility, and overall positive attitude.
A neat and professional appearance.
Spoken and written native language capacity in Arabic
Fluency in English Language is preferable

In Jordan, Palladium is implementing the Health Finance and Governance Activity (HFGA), a 5 year cooperative agreement funded by USAID. The overall goal of HFGA is to promote a locally-led, politically smart, adaptive process to preserve Jordan?s impressive gains in health, accelerate achievement of universal health coverage, and foster a more sustainable and resilient health sector capable of responding to current and future needs. The Palladium team?Palladium, ThinkWell, ECO Consult, and the Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD)?will leverage its relational and technical expertise to bolster the foundation for progress through an enabling policy environment and evidence to inform budgeting, financial management, policymaking, and monitoring. In doing so, HFGA seeks to empower the Ministry of Health (MOH), Royal Medical Services (RMS), High Health Council (HHC), and public, private, civil society, and donor partners to promote more efficient and equitable health finance and governance.
