Job Summary:
The person hired for this position will be responsible for managing the physical security department, processes and personnel at 3M’s Edumex manufacturing site in Cd. Juarez, Mexico and will: ensure the protection of property, assets, logistics/cargo assets, employees, and visitors to the facility; lead collaborative continuous improvement activities within the facility and Security department; safeguard the site’s physical perimeter; conduct security investigations; and communicate professionally with all 3M stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Protect 3M assets and people from invasion and harm.
- Perform services to assure the safety and protection of 3M property and personnel against injury, harassment, intimidation, loss, or damage from any preventable cause including theft, embezzlement, damage or destruction, trespass, espionage, or sabotage.
- Maintain and update a property loss and prevention program.
- Effectively manage physical cargo/logistics security processes to meet US Customs and Border Protection C-TPAT requirements in collaboration with Supply Chain Manager.
- Evaluate incidents and determine course of action. Work collaboratively with Human Resources and site leadership while conduct investigations, and employee interviews.
- Discover source of security breaches.
- Monitor and optimize safety alarms in buildings and around perimeter.
- Report and track all incidents.
- Maintain an emergency training curriculum in collaboration with EHS manager and Emergency Squad.
- Manage schedule security rounds and shift change activities.
- Supervise employee parking and employee locker procedures.
- Coordinate security for visiting executives and 3M visitors
- Optimize video surveillance coverage.
- Develop physical security responses.
- Manage processes for protecting 3M sensitive information.
- Optimize 3M access control systems.
- Lead and develop Security Officer’s training and personal development plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
- 3 to 5 years of Physical Security, law enforcement or other relevant experience
- Bilingual with ability to communicate both orally and written in English and Spanish
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative working skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Investigation training and experience
- Interviewing skills
- Previous manufacturing plant physical security experience desired

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic and international travel
