Regional Security Manager ASEAN

Key Responsibilities :
  • Provide day to day operational direction and leadership to all aspects of security operations in the region.
  • Assist and consult with design, development and implementation of organizational models that are aligned with Business Unit and Corporate clients.
  • Provide specialist information, advice and consultancy on all aspects of security to regional management and staff in general.
  • Assist in the definition, development, maintenance and management of enduring strategic plans to reduce the company’s exposure to risk and loss due to deliberate or accidental events, whether generic or targeted specifically at Medtronic, for example through human error, inefficiency, incident, crime or malpractice.
  • Participate in designing, developing and maintaining Corporate Security policies and crisis response program. This includes: procedure writing; program planning; conducting emergency preparedness drills and exercises.
  • Strong working knowledge of hazards within the ASEAN region.
  • Coordinate inspections, reports, and documentation of security activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local management in the region as well as state and local emergency management authorities.
  • Assist in the development and management of annual capital and expense budgets to support overall business strategies. Interact with senior and middle management.
  • Manage overall quality processes consistent with goals of the Privacy and Security Office.
  • Develop competency and directs facility staff in the participation of managing key performance indicators
  • Responsible for organizational and staff development, performance management and leadership to direct and indirect reports to support key department initiatives.
  • Review and evaluate all security related incidents and makes recommendations to preclude recurrence.
  • Maintain close relationships with high level law enforcement, community emergency responders, intelligence and private sector counterparts
  • Work closely with the Global Security Command Center as well as other parts of the Global Privacy and Security Office (GPSO), such as Incident Management, IT & Product Security and Privacy.
Key Requirements :
  • Bachelor Degree in security management, law or criminal justice.
  • Master’s Degree in security management, law or criminal justice with advanced training in Emergency Management and/or Travel Security would be preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years corporate security experience in a multinational, matrix, profit-based environment
  • 5 years crisis management experience within a multinational, matrix, profit-based environment.
  • 10 years managing people at various levels
  • Fluency in English and conversational (minimal requirement) in Thai and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with travel security and journey management in ASEAN.
  • Extensive operational security knowledge and experience in the ASEAN region.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of physical security technology
  • Experience in incident handling and investigations
  • Ability to work and excel in a complex matrix organization.
  • Realistic outlook on security and the security function
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills of complex issues, both verbal and in writing
  • Ability to think both strategically as well as operationally
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stressful situations
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Result and quality-oriented
  • Computer and application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) literacy
  • Ability to pass intensive background check
  • Ability to travel both regionally and internationally 10-20% of time
