Responsibilities and Duties
Selected candidate will provide services that support the ICITAP program which is working to develop the capacity of the Bosnia-Herzegovina civilian police force to function as a community based law enforcement organization operating in a manner consistent with the principles of policing in a free, democratic society.
The Advisor will conduct an assessment of the penitentiary system, local jails, and detention facilities in Bosnia-Herzegovina focusing on their capacity and the impact capacity has upon the overall criminal justice system.
The Advisor will develop and foster relationships with local counterparts and international organizations working in the penitentiary system area.
The Advisor will record observation and produce a detailed report on correctional system in BiH.
The Advisor will submit semi-monthly reports and other reports as requested by the Senior Program Advisor or Program Manager
In planning and implementing their activities, the Advisor will coordinate with the other Advisors of the USDOJ/ICITAP Program in Bosnia-Herzegovinain order to streamline assistance, limit redundancies and ensure that the activities of the mission are planned and implemented in a programmatic manner.
Although contracted through Engility to work on the USDOJ/ICITAP Program in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Advisor does not fall under chief of mission, however the advisor is expected to follow all rules, regulations and policies set by the Embassy.
The Advisor will complete other duties as assigned.
The Advisor will be able to take instructions, use initiative, and follow the guidance of the Senior Program Advisor and the directives and policies of the Program Manager
Period of Performance: The contract will be for a period of 90 days.
Minimum Tangible Qualifications
15 years of experience
The described requirements may be substituted by additional years of law enforcement and/or international criminal justice program development and/or training experience
Must obtain a Public Trust Waiver
Preffered Qualifications
3-5 years of experience working internationally.
