Security Manager

Responsibilities
To streamline the security programme to the last detail to protect the hotel property and contain pilferage. To protect guests, visitors, employees and their property when lawfully on the premises.
To abide by the mission statement of the hotel, and of the department
To prevent any action or situation that might result in an injury or death when a guest / visitor / employee is lawfully on the hotel premises.
To offer special protection to VIPs and government dignitaries
To ensure that Gate Passes are collated and the reports checked regularly.
Train staff to deal with protests, demonstration and on exercising effective crowd control
To make clear and concise plans, to deal with bomb threats
To handle guest complaints pertaining to security
To implement the management’s instructions and policies as and when needed
To advise the management on security matters
Assist personnel department in employee- screening when making appointments
To know thoroughly, the laws of arrest, search and seizure and be familiar with investigation techniques in case of an inquiry.
To ensure that fire prevention and safety procedures are maintained, of all areas of the hotel.
To train the security staff to be proficient in fire fighting drills.
To handle emergency situations such as fire, storm, floods or riots. To handle liaison with local police, fire brigade and other government agencies and maintain public relations with them to ensure their complete co-operation
To train and recruit security assistants and security officers.
To ensure proper induction of trainees from other departments, in security department
To organize fire/ evacuation drills among security, maintenance and other department staff
Making annual budgets and follow it strictly
To plan all types of leave and holidays of all the staff of the department and make the duty roster accordingly.
 
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce in Protective Services & Management or equivalent.
At least 8 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Managers specializing in Security/Armed Forces/Protective Services or equivalent.
