Division or Project Summary
SNC-Lavalin O&M has been awarded a 10-year contract to operate and maintain the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) project located in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
With a mandate to conduct high-calibre research in energy economics, policy, technology, and the environment, the KAPSARC project consists of three major components: a 65,000 m2 research and office complex, a residential community that will accommodate approximately 1,000 residents, and a utility zone to serve them.
SNC-Lavalin will provide integrated facility and community management services to the project.
Job Description
KAPSARC Security Supervisors are responsible for supervising security shift operations and contract security staff. They plan, implement, co-ordinate and control security patrols and supervise response by Security Officers. Supervisors ensure incidents and situations are handled according to Saudi law and customs and KAPSARC policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of contract security personnel.
•Plans, directs and monitors shift activities according to schedule requirements and personnel availability.
•Establishes and coordinates work schedules and posts coverage.
•Makes necessary changes to schedules in the event of unexpected changes.
•Reviews, coordinates and authorizes requests for leave and use of replacement workers.
•Conducts inspections of security posts and patrols to ensure on-duty security personnel are performing their assigned tasks according to accepted practice and by KAPSARC policy and procedures.
•Maintains a security incident log of all activities, observations and incidents during the shift.
•Assists in the recommendations, development, implementation and maintenance of improvements to systems and procedures.
•Ensures security personnel patrol and respond to incidents according to KPI’s and KAPSARC procedures.
•Supports security personnel with information on KAPSARC policy and procedures, Saudi laws and customs governing security and safety operations.
•Coordinates substitutions and ensures adequate coverage of personnel.
•Reports to management on incidents, observations and alerts.
•Responsible for the security and safety of KAPSARC facilities and community.
•Executes work assignments independently, consulting with, the Manager Security Operations as necessary.
•Assist with supervising the daily activities of the security department.
•Assist with the security and safety requirements necessary to ensure KAPSARC community assets (people, property, information, reputation and intellectual assets) are protected against incidents that could cause loss or damage.
•Assist with maintaining confidential documentation and incident reporting systems.
•Assist with training and educating the KAPSARC community regarding public safety to ensure compliance with KAPSARC security and safety policies and procedures and Saudi law.
•Develop and deliver training for security personnel in safety, security and fire protection.
•Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests or KAPSARC employees and families.
•Assist with arranging and providing special security services for special events as requested
•Perform other duties as assigned and act as “Manager on Duty” as required.
•Performs assigned supervisory, training, planning, directive and coordinating functions.
•Serves as the primary security advisor on a shift for general security, policy and procedures.
•Responsible supervisor to manage incidents in emergencies.
•Receives reviews, approves and directs distribution to appropriate management copies of incident reports.
•Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Requirements
•Experience in supervising security or law enforcement personnel in a related environment (Expatriate community of a similar population, cultural diversity and geographic area to KAPSARC)
•Protective services experience in a related environment to KAPSARC (responding to incidents involving community members, familiar with Community Policing concepts, crime prevention and community service programs)
•Working knowledge of local laws, investigation methods, labor safety requirements and fire codes and life safety codes.
•Good working knowledge of security technology and best practices for security organizations.
•Will be required to successfully complete and graduate from the KAPSARC Security Supervisor Training program
•Associate degree or, combination of experience and qualifications (10 years security or law enforcement experience where 3 years of which was supervising personnel
Additional Information
•Certified CPR, First Aid instructor and training in law enforcement techniques desired.
•Specialized advance training/certifications (Incident command, investigations, public relations, risk assessments, law enforcement [CSS], [CPP])
•Excellent command of Arabic and English (writing and speech)
