Security Project Manager

Position Summary
Serves as the overall in-country manager responsible for the identification, development, implementation, and management of the organization’s security program.

Position Responsibilities
Responsible to the Contracting Officer’s Representative and/or Regional Security Officer for all task order specific performance issues
Oversees the development of an effective strategy to mitigate risk and maintain continuity of operations in accordance with the requirements specified in the task order

Provides direction, in coordination with the Local Program Manager (LPM), to the in-country staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes, practices, and policies throughout the organization to (1) respond to incidents, (2) reduce risks, and (3) be aware of and have access to information on any potential risks to the task order and all involved parties (i.e. financial, physical security, reputation etc.).


Provide a safeguard to both the government and their organization’s assets, including intellectual property. Recommends appropriate standards and associated risk controls for the task order to the LPM.

Coordinates with the CONUS and OCONUS Managers in developing professional relationships with OCONUS Personnel including, but not limited to; Embassy personnel, RSO and RSO staff, private security personnel working for other government agencies, diplomatic personnel, and foreign security personnel.

Coordinates with the OCONUS Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers in implementing operational strategies that will ensure protection for high profile subjects

Ensures timely and accurate reporting, as outlined in the Task Order and in this contract

Coordinates with the LPM in ensuring that the personnel working under the task order are approved for any position they will be filling

Ensures that contractor provided personnel are properly vetted for their positions and that leadership personnel are executing their responsibilities efficiently and effectively. Items of primary concern include assessing performance of protective security details and ensuring proper behavior of all contractor-provided personnel, whether on or off duty


Coordinates with the LPM in ensuring that all necessary contractor support of protective security details under the task order is planned, provided, and maintained to allow protective security details to perform without a decrease in required performance


On-time delivery of protective security detail support


Provision of adequate off-duty needs of protective security personnel (housing, meals, and activities) to enable personnel to perform detail assignments without distraction.



Ensuring proper behavior of all contractor-provided personnel, whether on or off duty.
Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience
US Citizen
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
Must have a valid US Driver’s License and US Tourist Passport
Honorable discharge from the military (if applicable)
Must have an accredited Bachelor’s degree (http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/)
Level 3 English proficiency
Fifteen (15) years of experience


§ Ten (10) years of the fifteen years must have been working on or overseeing personal protective, static guard and emergency response team assignments

§ At least three (3) of the ten years must have been in a management or in-charge capacity

§ The remaining five (5) years of experience shall be generalized experience as defined as follows:

§ Generalized experience in planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing government security type programs


Demonstrated an ability to develop and manage budgets

Demonstrated an ability to manage and have contractual knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

Generalized experience in planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing government security type programs


Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of government regulations and the development of plans, policies, and procedures


Written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences


Capable of solving complex problems


Ability to function effectively in adverse situations


No impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy


Must be Project Management Professional (PMP®) certified (www.pmi.org) within one year of being assigned to the Task Order. Candidates currently certified as a PMP are highly desired.


Must have no felony or domestic violence conviction. Record of recent recurring misdemeanors may adversely impact candidate’s suitability rating

§ Employment with Triple Canopy is contingent upon a favorable background check to include no serious financial problems in the past seven years.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be prepared to live and work in an austere environment. Must be willing to work seven days a week, 12 hours a day.
