Job Summary:
Cubic Defence Australia provides training systems and training services support primarily to the Australian Defence Force and is a subsidiary of US Cubic Corporation which specializes in military training systems and services globally.
Cubic is seeking Sydney-based Role Players / Actors to support the delivery of realistic scenario based training for Defence personnel in their given specialties at Holsworthy Military Barracks (near Liverpool). These positions are casual – irregular shifts – and are suitable only for Sydney-based candidates who have their own transport.

Successful candidates will be required to realistically role-play military appointments and roles in accordance with written and verbal scenario briefs. Role players must be able to extract key information from the brief and other directions and effectively role-play their role/character convincingly and professionally.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilites :
This work would ideally suit appropriate experienced personnel with flexible availability to meet requested work periods at Holsworthy Military Barracks (Near Liverpool). The first series of training activities commence 23 Feb 15 followed by irregular short duration dates thereafter until the end of the year. Each course is approx. two weeks in duration, with approx. 4-5 courses per year. Role players will be paid an hourly rate of $25.00 which includes all applicable loadings.

Successful applicants would be allocated and rostered to various training days (generally weekdays) within the training period subject to customer requirements. Activities are irregular and allocation is based on availability across the team.

These positions would not suit high award professional accredited Actors.

Shortlisted applicants must be prepared to undergo a National Police Check (at Cubic’s expense). Checks revealing criminal history may be reviewed by Australian Defence Force during the recruiting process, and may exclude candidates from acceptance.

Minimum Job Requirements :
Role players must be:
capable of realistic and professional role-playing for numerous scenarios, including short notice roles and in accordance with scenario brief
capable of ad-libbing where required while keeping within the scope of the scenario
capable of adopting numerous military appointments, roles and characters
timely and professional to allow a customer focused approach

A background in military role playing would be advantageous. Uniforms and role-playing equipment provided.

Roleplayers must have own transport.
