PAE is currently seeking a Vehicle Trainer to train Peace Keeping Operation (PKO) contingent troops on the basic operation and maintenance of both Unarmored Vehicles and Armored Personnel Carriers (APC’s).
The Vehicle Trainer will:
Execute assigned POIs, lesson plans and training materials for the training of African peacekeeping contingents in the operation and maintenance of APCs for the PKO’s.
Develop, manage and execute training focused on the operations and maintenance of specific APCs and unarmored vehicles, as appropriate for the contingents and their operational needs.
Help develop detailed training plans, customized course curricula, programs of instruction, training materials, and professional development programs for military training.
Provide expertise on the effectiveness of ongoing training.
Conduct training assessments to determine future efforts and resources required.
Develop and provide training on maintenance and operations of APCs and unarmored vehicles.
Assist with coordination between other advisors PKO’s hierarchy.
Adapt training to skills and abilities of units tasked with maintenance and operation of APC’s and unarmored vehicles.
Assist in the development and implementation of an Instructor Training Course and maintenance of the program, including certification of instructors.
Generate many types of documents; including requirement specifications schedules project reports, communication (email) records, design specifications, meeting agendas, minutes and status reports.
Create and maintain project documentation and remain conscientious of applying required structures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires French language skills.
Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both in writing and orally.
Training and overseeing operation of APC and unarmored vehicle units is required.
Must have 2 years of experience delivering training for military audiences.
Must be courteous and polite in written and oral communication, and be able to get ideas across in a non-confrontational manner in one-to-one situations, small groups, and before large audiences.
Instructor experience and experience in training or operations in a developing country, preferably in Africa, is highly desired.
Training scenario development, professional development programs, military staff training and instructor certification programs experience is desired.
Ability to provide basic operator and familiarization and 1st and 2nd echelon maintenance communications training for both VHF and HF radio models is desired.
Must be willing and able to live and work in remote and austere locations.
