Summary of Duties:
- Be aware of key business drivers, financial targets, objectives and progress
relevant to your department.
- Communicate on a regular basis with your Team Manager.
- High visibility in outlet during all service periods.- Comply with outlet SOP’s as minimum standards.- Report all incidents, accidents and risks directly to your Team Manager.- Demonstrate personal and professional development of self through involvement in learning and development opportunities.
-Aware of schedule/roster well in advance of its published date and maintain correct time keeping practices.- Follow and enforce all relevant Hotel and departmental policies.- Facility upkeep and maintenance management.-Travel as required to off-site events and locations.- Deputises for the Security Superintendent when he is not on duty and runs the department and sees that all duties are covered as per the requirements.- Establishes weekly/monthly duty rosters for the entire Security department.- Ensures daily briefings 3 times per day.- Personally responsible for internal training of his team with special focus on safety and security as well as emergency procedures.- Submits vacation plan of his team.- Conducts regular meetings of the Security section.- Maintains a logbook for day to day operation and follows up on all tasks.- Ensures good communication, low employee turnover and high team morale.- Directly responsible for all activities of all security personnel.- Ensures together with his team that the security of the hotel premises and employee facilities is guaranteed 24/7.- Coordinates with outside police agencies in the investigation and handling of crimes, accidents, etc., involving the hotel, its employees and guests.- Prepares incident reports.- Ensures that all incidents and issues are recorded and properly followed up on.- Liaises with all department heads to ensure hotel employees are adhering to the established security procedures.- Carries out random checks of security points and hotel premises on a regular basis (minimum of 5 per week on different shifts) and reports results to the Director of Human Resources for follow up.- Is fully responsible for all equipment entrusted to him and his team and that it is kept in perfect working condition at all times.- Ensures that all employees on duty adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures.- Ensures that the Command Centre is manned 24/7.- Monitors surveillance systems and records all incidents and occurrences.- Ensures that the security post of the employee compounds is manned at all times.- Ensures mobile units of security personnel, patrol all areas as required and that patrol sheets are being verified on a daily basis.- Carries out other duties that may from time to time be assigned to him by his superiors.

•Works with most major types of personnel security practices, tools, and technologies.
•Instructs security guards on organization-specific personnel identification and security procedures.
•Assesses the character, personal and professional integrity of employee and contractor candidates.
•Monitors and reports on compliance with established personnel security procedures.
•Investigates cases of theft or personal harm perpetrated by employees or contractors.
•Conducts employee security awareness and responsibility training.
