Job Summary
Plans, directs, controls, coordinates, and evaluates medical operations and activities associated with the medical care of deployed police officers and support personnel. Overall responsible for OCONUS based operational support of assigned DynCorp International (DI) program(s) under direction of the Program Manager.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician.
- Examines patients, performs physical exams, and compiles medical data, including health history.
- Creates working Standard Operating Procedures based on individual site conditions and medical services available in the local area.
- Working skills in interviewing and counseling patients, in communicating observations, information or recommendations, regarding diagnoses or treatment to medical professionals and other staff in oral/written form.
- Working ability to comprehend, communicate and apply state and federal laws and health laws, which affect medical care.
- Provides preventative, therapeutic, restorative, and maintenance aspects of health care.
- Coordinates treatment plan with other caregivers such as, regional medical personnel, U.N. Medical Director, KFOR Medical Assets, physical therapists or other medical assets.
- Participates in employee training and orientation programs.
- Tracks certifications of all medical staff personnel and ensures currency is maintained.
- Supervises assigned medical staff and local host national physician.
Knowledge & Skills
- Skill in evaluating and revising care plan based on patient changes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
- Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
- Skill in accurately evaluating patient problems and providing appropriate advice, intervention or referral.
- Ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated for diagnosis and treatment.
- Knowledge of professional medical practices related to treatment of work-related illness and injuries.
- Knowledge of organizational and medical policies, regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe medical environment.
- Skill in developing and maintaining records and writing reports.
Experience & Education
- Current National EMT-P or military medical 18D equivalent Certification.
- Licensure must be current with all applicable education/recertification requirements completed.
- Certified as a Physician’s Assistant in the United States.
- 10 years’ experience in the medical field with at least 4 years as a Physician’s Assistant.
- Experience within the military as a Physician’s Assistant is preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
