Job Summary
Performs Duties as Lead Instructor for Unit Armorer Staff of (20) personnel responsible for training staff in the repairs of small arms and establishing unit operating procedures. This is a one year position located in Lima Peru (Spanish Language skills is considered an enhancement but not mandatory). Personnel accepting this position will be required to live and work in Peru for a base period of one year.



ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Personnel accepting this position will be responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and the instruction on how to maintain or repair the weapons systems. Individuals will also be responsible for the establishment of management and quality control procedures as well as logistical support requirements. The repair system must be fully operational under the management of the Peruvian Army upon contract completion. Personnel assigned to this position must also be able to repair and maintain Night Vision equipment. Instructors for this position will set the doctrine for shop management and the requirements from supply to annual budgeting. The Primary language for instruction will be Spanish. Train a minimum of 20 armor’s to 10-20 maintenance level standards and develops the POI and training standards for all PSOF Weapons. Develop a standardized arms room for all PDF forces to follow, mentor PSOF armors through-out the contracted year and develop a yearlong training calendar for the armors courses.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Candidates will be a certified U.S. Military Armorer (Preferably with a SOF Background), a certified NVG Repairman, the Team Leader/Senior Armor- must have attended a US Army Armor’s course and a civilian armor’s course with 15 years’ experience, Senior Armor must have Special Operations experience, Team member/ Assistant Armor- must have attended a US Army Armor’s course and a civilian armor’s course with 10 years’ experience. Candidates will be able to perform maintenance and instruct on small arms weapons to include but not limited to M-16, M-4, 60mm, 81 mm, 60 Cal, 50 Cal, night vision goggles and any other small arms in the PDF arsenal, pass a background check, be able to lift Up to 45Lbs and operate in a field conditions with temperature and climate changes.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The preferred candidate will be able to speak, read and write both English and Spanish Fluently, translate technical documents from English to Spanish correctly, be a former SOF Operator, be a former SOF Weapons armorer familiar with Warsaw block weapons, possess experience in Peru, be a former Instructor at USAJFKSWCS, possess familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with the local culture and customs and have the ability to function effectively and efficiently during extended periods of high pressure and stress.
