Job Introduction:
G4S is responsible for the physical security of Iraq International Airport and its environs. The environment varies from high intensity population areas such as the main checkpoint and the Airport Terminal to more open environments such as perimeter and airside patrolling.
The physical threat is manifested through random mortar, rocket and small arms fire to the implicit threat of VBIED, suicide attack or the smuggling of explosives and sabotage.
The operational tasking required meeting the needs of the environment and the security threat results in a flexible, multi-talented Category 1 work force. This work force forms the nucleus of past performance and experience together with the backbone of the project.
The role of the project is to provide an example to the client of how a disciplined, well trained security force can continue to provide security to the Iraq International Airport whilst increasing the capacity for self-sufficiency within the Local National work force.
To ensure that the all SOP’s and procedures are being followed correctly for the smooth running of the Ground Security operation. This is to provide a safe environment for passenger and staff moving through the Iraq International Airport.
Role Responsibility:
Including but not limited to the following key tasks, as directed by and/or in consultation with the Iraq International Airport Operations and Project Directors
Ensure that Ground Security positions are always manned and there is an up to date roster in OPS room and in Ground Security store.
Ensure that all personnel on Ground Security follow procedures
Do threat analysis, to ensure that there are no blank areas in Ground Security AOR
Develop relationship with other units/ companies working on Iraq International Airport
Provide manning/ roster (Expats, TCNs and LNs) for Ground Security duties,
Ensure all personnel on Ground Security are briefed about rules and threat level in Iraq International Airport
Ensure that all units on Ground Security are continuously trained to keep them a professional workforce
Admin responsibility for Ground Security and QRF
Respond to emergencies in the general Iraq International Airport area together with QRF units,
Ensure the Iraq International Airport is kept a green area by carrying out spot VCPS and search operations either as a standalone team.
Deal with any problems that arise in any of the G4S positions or areas,
Assist all other AOR on the Iraq International Airport with the QRF team if any problems arise
Work in conjunction with the K9 section of the project on all areas of Iraq International Airport to assist them in searching different areas and buildings inside the AOR
Respond quickly and professionally to any emergency that has been tasked through the Operations room
Carry out on the job develop and implement remedial training for Staff
Manage, Coach and mentor staff ensuring G4S Standards of Excellence are being delivered
Monitor all staff on a daily basis and report/record any absenteeism
Initiate the appropriate documentation for all staff including G4S Disciplinary Action and Grievance procedures where necessary
Motivate staff and provide for effective two way communication within the department/team so as to encourage feedback and promote improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and customer service,
Ensure that G4S Health and Safety Standards are observed and reported upon when required
Ensure mandatory checks are carried out and areas of concern are addressed as required
Undertake any additional duties including administration as may be required
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential:
•Must be able to effectively communicate in English
•Must have management experience, SNCO British Army standard
•Must be able to effectively communicate in English
•Must have a working knowledge of weapons and weapon safety procedures
•Must be a qualified in some area of Military/Police/Security background
•Must have extensive practical skills and theoretical knowledge and have applied these in a practical setting for an extended period of time
•Should have had experience in the field of tutoring or mentoring of other Military/Police/Security professionals
•Must be enthusiastic with regard to on-going training for staff
•Should have an extensive knowledge of Military/Police/Security procedures and tactics
•Must be an excellent communicator
•Must be professional in both his/her dealings with the client/s and their own work ethic
•Must understand the need for clear lines of communication with respect to client, management and staff reporting
•Must be proactive in their approach to procedures with regard to Sop’s in relation to the Ground Security and QRF
•Be proactive in planning for the event of a major incident either at camp Smith, checkpoint, terminal or cargo areas
•Must have the ability to analytically asses needs, and have the ability to implement the required changes
•Must have the ability to operate as part of the Ground Security and QRF team with regard to Operations
•They must be able to advise and impart their previous Military/Police/Security skills to the benefit of the Ground Security and QRF staff
•Must be team oriented and act with team outcomes in mind
•Should display an ability to determine policy and implement same
•Should be able to display an understanding and capability of man management skills in regards to TCNs/LNs
•Must be able to drive

•Experience in working in hostile environments is advantageous
•British Army SNCO,WO
•First Aid trained
•Computer Skills
•Weapons instructor
