National Excavator Operator

Overview of the Position
Purpose: He/She performs his/her duties under supervision of Unit Leader in the following two fields: • Technical operations • ERW Clearance Operations
Duties and Responsibilities • Technical Operations o The operator is to study the Operating Manual of the Machine and operate the machine accordingly. o The operator is to check around the machine to ensure there are no suspected objects around the machine. o The operator is to carry out pre-start checks prior to operating the machine in accordance with SOPs or the Machine Operating Instructions. o The operator is responsible to operate the demining machine in a safe and effective manner o The operator is to carry out post operating checks at the end of each day in accordance with SOPs or the Machine Operating Instructions o Maintain communication with his command group o Fully obey the command of his team leader o Any other tasks as assigned
• In ERW Clearance Operations Before starting practical work the operator shall consider the following points: o Receive a full brief about the related task and all hazards (explosive and other) relating to the task. o Approach and exit routes from the task must be studied in advance o Before commencing the task be briefed by Team Leader with regards to operator responsibilities during the conduct of the task. o Advise Team Leader of any hazards identified prior to or during the conduct of the task.
Essential Experience
• A minimum of 03 (Three) years’ experience operating an excavator • Be able to work in all areas within Libya • Be in good health condition
Languages
• Arabic is essential • A working knowledge English is required.
