Chief Security Officer , South Africa

An opportunity exists at Rheinmetall Denel Munition (Somerset West site) in Cape Town for a Chief Security Officer reporting to the Executive Manager: Risk Services.
Key perfomance areas:
•Contributes to the development of operating procedures and participates in the formulation and
implementation of all safety, fire and risk/ disaster plans.
•Reports any breaches of security, initiates investigations and prepares written reports of results as required.
•Reviews all reports of security staff and directs special investigations.
•Takes action in cases of security violations by any persons as required in the written rules and regulations concerning the functioning of the security department.
•Works with other facility personnel in maintaining proper security and assuring that necessary precautionary measures are taken for protection of people and property.
•Liaise with Security agents, SAPS, PSIRA and local authorities.
•Responsible for performance management, career pathing and the development of the staff.
•Manage, control, analyse costs and set financial performance goals for the unit.

Post Requirements: 
•Minimum Grade 12 plus 1 yr formal security management qualification or relevant NQF 4 (upper) equivalent qualification.
•Minimum Grade A Security Training, National Key Point Certificate and Firearm License required.
•Secret clearance with SSA/ DoD.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Physical Security practices at a NKP - minimum 3 years experience.
•Demonstrated knowledge of safety, health, environment and security related legislation.
•Management of security personnel at a NKP.
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the handling of emergency situations.
•Excellent communication, planning and organising skills.
•Good problem solving and conflict management skills.
•Experience in safety and security techniques, fire prevention, incident investigation and reporting techniques.
•Continuous improvement focus and ability to drive change management.
•Demonstrated ability to manage performance and transformation.
•Good problem solving, persuasiveness and client relationship skills.
•Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills.
•Good communication, planning and organizing skills.
•Ability to work independently and with initiative.
•Standby required and be available for callouts.
•Computer literate (MS Office packages).
•Code 8 drivers license & own transport essential.
