A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for an Associate Director, Regional Security based in Johannesburg.
Description
- Provide tactical & strategic security support to MSD operations across the region.
- Establish and maintain seamless interface with MSD management and operations.
- Maintain close liaison with government, industry, security, and intelligence professionals.
- Support the analysis of security exposures and implement cost effective passive, reactive, and proactive programs to address these exposures.
- Provide guidance and support to site operations ensuring that Global Security Group (GSG) worldwide standards, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
- Conduct and support internal and external investigations.
- Provide support in the areas of employee and executive protection, product integrity, supply chain integrity, protection of property, incident management, site security surveys and trade secret protection.
- Extensive travel will be the norm.
Qualifications
- Security professional with 5-10 years experience in corporate security and/or 5-10 years experience in law enforcement or intelligence work with significant experience in the SSA region.
- Strong background in investigations.
- Ability to identify security issues and customize & implement solutions.
- Proven ability to work in varying situations, from committee work in which a "team player" approach is essential to situations in which considerable independence and self-motivation are required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to breaking situations. Sound, proven judgment is a must.
- Education to bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a law degree would be a significant advantage.
- First class spoken and written English
