Title Security Manager
The Position Manages staff in the Security department at both our Palace & Baccarat locations, to ensure that the safety and security of guests, employees and casino assets is maintained. This may involve investigating, reviewing and compiling incident information.
Key Responsibilities 1. Facilitates the effective functioning of the security team by providing expertise, resources and by cultivating a positive team environment.
2. Manages the performance of the security team by leading, training, providing positive and corrective feedback, coaching and administering discipline as appropriate. Participates directly in the hiring process.
3. Ensures effective communication between Security department and Casino Managers. Liaises with senior management, shift and department managers around current issues or activities of mutual interest.
4. Ensures the provision of excellent customer service by department staff.
5. Prepares and communicates staff schedules in accordance with casino and regulatory requirements.
6. Ensures the safe and expedient removal of problem guests.
7. Provides timely reports and information to gaming regulators as required.
8. Ensures that key and proximity card access are controlled in accordance with policy.
What You Will Require • Minimum 2 years of Security or comparable experience in a casino, military or police setting, plus 2 years of supervisory experience
• Completion of GSO training
• Thorough knowledge of casino operations, gaming regulators policies and procedures as they pertain to casino and security operations
• Proven leadership abilities
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, email and internet browsers
• Excellent English communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Good observation skills and natural attention to detail
• Proven record of good judgment under pressure
• Working knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada an asset
