PAE is a leader in providing worldwide solutions for base operations, logistics, construction, airfield operations, and personnel placement. PAE is currently seeking a Remote Search & Rescue Team Leader to support stability operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Remote Search & Rescue Team Leader is the commanding officer for the Remote Search & Rescue Team and must have the ability to lead a RSR team without supervision. The candidate will be responsible to provide rescue services in remote locations in order to minimize the loss of life and property.
The candidate should be familiar with hazardous materials handling in accordance with NFPA 472. The team will be required to perform basic life support treatment to casualties in remote areas and extraction of casualties and body recovery on land or water. The candidate is responsible for the daily inspections on all rescue equipment. Provide training and simulated exercises to team members to assure the teams readiness.
The Candidate should be familiar with altitudes in area of operations for calculating dive tables. Has Ability to perform HIRA (Hazardous Identification and Risk Analysis). Utilize rope equipment to perform tasks safely in extreme and difficult conditions. Must be physical fit and participate in physical exercise training sessions.
The Remote Search & Rescue Team Lead will be required to perform ECR duties when not activated for RSR duties.
Qualifications:
The Remote Search & Rescue Team Leader must be certified as a NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) Fire Officer 1 (Equivalent Level 3 IFE Diploma) and advance First Aid or Basic Life Support Techniques.
Have excellent oral and communication skills in English (French will be an advantage).
Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Must be able to work in austere conditions in Africa.
Mandatory: Certified rescue diver or equivalent.
Experience in general boatmanship and safety aspects of working on and with a boat and the boat’s equipment. Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR.
The candidate should have experience in the recharge of dive cylinders.
Have experience in High angle rescue operations working with rope rescue equipment and working at high altitudes and extreme weather conditions.
Experience with Helicopter hoisting procedures. Hazardous Materials-Operations level. Valid heavy vehicle drivers license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
Desirable: Commercial skippers license. Intermediate Life Support (ILS), including CPR. Dive Master or equivalent. Class IV Emergency Diver or equivalent with experience in altitude diving and search patterns in zero visibility.
Have experience in swift water rescue procedures. Search and Rescue Technician. Vehicle Extrication Techniques. Aviation Firefighter and Rescue experience will be an advantage.
