Job Description:
United Nations MINUSTAH CIVPOL mission is tasked in assisting in the mentoring and training of Haitian National Police, vetting of new and existing officers, field training, internal investigations, accompanying Haitian National Police on patrol, providing advice and guidance on organizational and management issues, develop the infrastructure and capacity building and provide monitoring and evaluation reporting on the activities of the Haitian National Police.
Requirements:
Applicant have a minimum of five (5) years police experience in a full-service law enforcement agency , however the applicant MUST have a combined total of eight (8) years work experience. Preference will be given to those with at least 8-10 years experience as a sworn law enforcement position at a full service law enforcement agency (corrections officer, jail deputy, reserve officer or military police service is not considered sworn duty).
Applicants if not active law enforcement officers must be recently separated sworn law enforcement officials or retired within 5 years (time spent in DOS/INL missions such as Haiti, Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan etc. count as service time).
Some supervisory and command experience, a plus.
Police Training, Police Instructor (certification from agency/department), Field Training, Criminal Investigations, Special Victims Unit, Gender, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Counter- Narcotics, Border Patrol, K9, and Maritime experience preferred.
Ability to speak French and Creole is a plus.
