Counter Narcotics Mentor/Trainer , Kabul, Afghanistan

Job Description
SOS International Ltd. (SOSi) is seeking a Counter Narcotics Mentor/Instructor to support a program developed in order to address the management and leadership skills needed within the Afghan Law Enforcement rank structure. Candidates will be required to conduct trainings and provide lectures, and small group scenario based training with use of translators. Candidates should be well qualified and have multiple years of law enforcement and/or counternarcotics experience with significant teaching and law enforcement skills.

Essential job duties:
• Designs and schedules a comprehensive course curriculum to include courses on drug identification, case management, interview and interrogation, report writing, and more
• Mentors and trains individual Afghans as part of the “Train the Trainer” program
• Delivers instructional hands-on briefings and lectures through multiple Afghan interpreters
• Engages with Afghan instructors and government officials to facilitate improved instruction and educational impact
• Maintains comprehensive training and student records
• Coordinates graduation ceremonies
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Requirements
• Existing security clearance not required but candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; US citizenship required• 10 years of Federal or local law enforcement/criminal investigative/counternarcotics experience
• Commensurate experience in conducting complex investigations, counternarcotics operations, witness interviews, drug identification, subject interrogations, crime scene processing, and evidence collection
• Classroom and field instruction experience
• Computer skills required; PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel
• Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills
• Able to work effectively in high threat/stressful environment for extended period of time
• Experience working with foreign cultures preferably Afghan and/or Southwest Asia
Additional Information
Desired Skills:
• Master’s Degree highly preferred
• Formal teaching experience within military or civilian law enforcement training institution highly preferred

Work Environment:
• Personnel can expect to be deployed, live, and work in an area designated by the U.S. Government as an Imminent Danger and Hostile Fire Zone
• Must be willing to submit to pre-deployment medical screenings and be of sufficient physical health to endure being deployed in potentially hostile and austere locations
• Work environment is often stressful and detail oriented as it is a timeline driven department with set objectives and hard due dates
• Ability to lift and/or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs
