Cleared Ground Demining, a British registered landmine / ERW clearance Charity, is currently expanding its clearance operations in The Republic of Palau. Cleared Ground is seeking expressions of interest from applicants for the following position:

Key Functions
• Conduct underwater Survey, RSP’s, clearance and removal of WWII ERW. • Conduct on land Survey, BAC, Roving Spot Tasks, RSP’s and bulk demolition of WWII ERW. • Provide technical supervision of relevant field and underwater operations, including the training and development of indigenous personnel, to international standards so that effective, safe and productive clearance operations will enhance host country / donor goals. • Assess existing clearance skills and capabilities of indigenous personnel to identify further skills development needs. • Conduct quality assurance of field operations in line with IMAS and in cooperation with Mine Action Authorities. • Ensure that data is recorded, collated and analysed effectively. • Prepare National Authority and donor reports as required. • Contribute to Cleared Ground’s overall strategy and program goals.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Possess a formal military or civilian accredited EOD qualification from a recognised EOD institution, to at least IMAS Level 3 standard. • Possess a formal clearance dive qualification to at least EOD Dive Supervisor level. • Have a minimum of 7 years experience in an ERW clearance environment, including conducting underwater ERW clearance within the last three years. • Experience of working overseas with specific experience, preferably relating to WWII ERW • Be able to work independently and on your own initiative. • Have the ability to liaise and professionally represent CGD to all levels of mine action management, including national authorities, international agencies and donors, and respect cultural context of posting. • Spoken and written English is essential. • Computer literacy is essential and you must be confident in using Microsoft Office including Excel. • Willingness to be based in remote location as part of a small community.
