Description
Position: ARMED GUARD (NON-PSS) - WPS
Position Description Summary: The Armed Guard is responsible for ensuring security at site locations through static positions and mobile patrols. He/she is responsible for the operation of entry control points and other duties as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure security of WPS site locations
· Operate entry control points
· Maintain security at all times
· Take direction from the Diplomatic Security Agent in Charge
Skills
· Demonstrated effective communications skills including strong written and oral presentation skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
· Ability and willingness to work in hostile and conflict environment
· Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility
· Ability to maintain effective communications with individuals and agencies from diverse cultures and backgrounds including U.S. Government, host nation government and law enforcement
· Maintain effective professional relationships with employees and outside individuals and agencies
· Ability to understand and successfully handle various operational issues
Minimum Qualifications
· Familiarity with physical security and access control matters.
· Three (3) years of military or similar police or local guard force experience.
· Familiar with contract issued weapons.
· English language proficiency (minimum of Level II)
Upon hiring the Armed Guard will be required to:
· Attend the Guard Force training course
· Maintain weapons qualification on all weapons – Glock, M-4 and shotgun
