JOB SUMMARY:
Supports the I MEF FWD Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics (AC/S C-4) and is responsible for supporting the unit’s Environmental and Explosives Safety Program.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Be a US citizen with current passport.- Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.- Be in good physical health and be able to serve in an overseas billet in an austere environment.
- Possess a minimum high school diploma.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of explosives/ammunition management experience.
- Be quailfied and certified as an Explosives Safety Officer (ESO) per the requirements of chapter 9, Marine Corps Order P8020.10B, Marine Corps Ammunition Management and Explosives Safety Policy Program.
- Possess a minimum of 15 yrs prior military experience in the ammunition and/or safety fields.
- Be proficient in Microsoft office programs.
- Be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and move weighted item short distances.
- Be willing to work and perform duties in austere environment with limited amenities.
- Be willing to routinely perform duties 60-72 hrs/week as well as be available to support emergent requirements on an as needed basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and assistance on storage, handling, and transportation of explosives.- Provide recommendations, advice, and guidance on explosive programs for operations to plan and budget for.- Provide recommendations on necessary controls to help determine/evaluate costs associated with storage and accountability of explosives.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the differences amongst the explosives requirements and policies of the uniformed services and specific knowledge of those differences in an operational environment.
- Support the planning and maintenance of explosive safety programs acoss the MAGTF.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations and monitoring of the I MEF FWD and all subordinate commands’ explosive safety programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) and the implications of the use of various electronic equipment in the operational environment on ordnance storage, handling, and employment.
